In my gaming experience, gameplay always makes better games than graphics.
So framerate > "fidelity"
So framerate > "fidelity"

Completely disagree with you buddy. But I'll meet you in the middle and say, lets have two graphics presets so both groups can be happy.
It's a fact. Most people agree.
It's why better graphics are always advertised and the most anticipated new feature with every new console release. not goddamn framerate.
No they don't. The most played games in the world are all played at 60 FPS.It's a fact. Most people agree.
What does this even mean? "graphics are always advertised?"It's why better graphics are always advertised and the most anticipated new feature with every new console release. not goddamn framerate.
...Because it's a trailer. The added fluidity is less noticeable when you're not actually playing. It's why fidelity 30fps mode is used to capture footage for every trailer and screenshot. Not 60fps mode.
High framerate modes are more common than ever before. It's why you still see devs prioritizing graphics and fidelity over framerate. 2 more games this week alone. More to come as games start pushing these consoles visually.
No they don't.It's why games that offer both modes have 30fps fidelity mode set as the DEFAULT mode and you have to go in and manually switch to performance.
Ahh I've missed your poorly informed opinions on this topic, Rep. Glad to see you back to spouting your usual nonsense. 60 FPS get patched in at a later date because these games are ported over to next generation console. The reason why 30 FPS was prevalent in last generation was due to a CPU Bottleneck, which is not the case with current hardware. Thats why these games now run at 60 and the fact that developers took the time and effort to support these framerates show that these is a huge demand for it.I could go on
Now some noob will quote me saying yOu pLAy gAmEs N0t wATch thEm as if everything I said isn't a fact and ignore the fact that practically every game on the market launches at 30fps and is later patched for 60. Because they prioritize graphics over framerate - because that's what most people prefer.
Can someone explain to me why demons souls at 60fps looks so much better than the 60fps from the latest naughty dog games? They're exactly the same resolution but ND games look much more fuzzy. What's Bluepoint doing here? Even Returnal with their upscaled 1080p doesn't look fuzzy. Honestly curious. You can definitely have both. Something like Demons Souls is a good example of this, the fidelity mode is pretty much redundant given how good their upscaling solution is. Similar with R&C.
30fps is perfectly acceptable depending on the game. But there are games where 60fps is almost required to have an enjoyable gameplay experience.
cockI'm exasperated with this '60fps or nothing' attitude that has infected gaming recently. Sure it's nice if a game runs at a steady 60hz but I'd far far rather the developers get their game looking as nice as possible at a steady 30fps than sacrifice fidelity. I didn't pay all that money for a PS5 just to play smoother running PS4 games.
Who's with me? You can't all be framerate fanatics surely?
Multyplayer trash. And COD. Fantastic. No they don't. The most played games in the world are all played at 60 FPS.
Improved visuals and higher fidelity are always the main selling point of a new console. Undeniable. What does this even mean? "graphics are always advertised?"
So what? A trailer is in motion right? 60fps is better for motion right? This should add fuel to your argument. Instead it falls flat on its face. 30fps is used for trailers because the visuals are better and devs/publishers alike want their game shown off in the way that makes said game LOOK the best it possibly can. In fidelity mode....Because it's a trailer. The added fluidity is less noticeable when you're not actually playing.
Because we're getting a lot of cross gen, last gen looking crap. What a coincidence btw.High framerate modes are more common than ever before.
Yes they do. TLOUPart 1 and 2, Spiderman, God of War, Days Gone, Ghosts of Tsushima, Halo Infinite, Uncharted Collection, Flight Sim, Forza Horizon 5, Horizon: Forbidden WestI could go on for hours. All have 30fps set to default. Not 60.No they don't.
Wrong yet again. Incredible. All those games could run at 60fps. But they'd have to look uglier. So devs went with 30, because fidelity was prioritized. Thats just what it is.Ahh I've missed your poorly informed opinions on this topic, Rep. Speaking of framerate, remember when you claimed that the next Naughty Dog PS5 only game would be 30 FPS only, and then THLOU Part 1 came out and it supports 60 FPS anyway? Good times, good times.
Halo Infinite [...] All have 30fps set to default. Not 60.
It depends on his age, but if we assume this guy is an adult, then his dad and father's father played in 60 fps, as commodore 64 had 60 fps games, so 60 fps are actually a thing in the past for consoles.![]()
It's okay if you want to stay in the past. I get it.
Your father played at 30fps. Your father's father played at 30fps.
My bad you're right about halo infinite.uhm... no... I am not certain about the other games you listed, but I know that this is not true at all. in fact on Series X there originally wasn't even a 30fps option, only 60fps and 120fps
Why no poll, OP?I'm exasperated with this '60fps or nothing' attitude that has infected gaming recently. Sure it's nice if a game runs at a steady 60hz but I'd far far rather the developers get their game looking as nice as possible at a steady 30fps than sacrifice fidelity. I agree with some games, for example, I could not tell a difference on Forza Horizon 4 on One X. I went with better graphics over 60 FPS on that game. But, FPS's need to be 60 or higher. Especially when playing online.I'm exasperated with this '60fps or nothing' attitude that has infected gaming recently. Sure it's nice if a game runs at a steady 60hz but I'd far far rather the developers get their game looking as nice as possible at a steady 30fps than sacrifice fidelity. Wondering why you show some ugly ass development picture and not from the full game.My bad you're right about halo infinite.
That's probably why it's one of the uglier AAA games in existence

Yeah, and personally, I would rather play that 'uglier' game at 60fps.
My bad you're right about halo infinite.
No coincidence it's one of the uglier AAA games in existence then

Imagine even considering the potato console versions of these games...flight sim, mass effect, Bioshock, Skyrim
I'm playing with that screenshot. I find it hilarious they released it as something to get us excited.Wondering why you show some ugly ass development picture and not from the full game.

People play games for different reasons.
Its a shame that the 60 fps cult only recognizes theirs as the only legit ones.
You are not alone OP.
