Yes they do."Casuals" don't care about 120 FPS.
Currently most of the most successful games have 120fps options.
Casuals are the biggest consumer and casuals love high fps games.

It's both better than expected and super rough at the same time.oh wow i had no idea they were able to put ray tracing hardware in there. I still dont think 1.6 tflops is enough for RT.
PettySo the Rocksteady Dev....who didn't work on Gotham Knights posits:
The Series S GPU caused the PS5 version to be locked 30fps?
![]()
On Topic
Bossa Studio is complaining about the power of the Series S?
Mate when this is your portfolio be happy you are even considered a console developer, cuz this is some mobile gaming shit right here:

If the Series S is causing them so much grief, just publish exclusively on PC and PS5.....im sure Sony have been champing at the bit to announce I Am Fish 2 as being a console exclusive at their the next showcase.
Blaming the series s for bad optimization makes no sense. Hard point to defend and usually ends with surrender. The tweets in the OP have been deleted.
Nothing burger thread.

No they don't. My friends who game their whole lives don't even know 30 vs 60. Let alone 120. Coworkers don't even know ps4 vs ps5.Yes they do.

Discount the stutters of course, that's just DX12 UE in it's natural form.
No it is not, his tweets were in response to this:
I don't see anything about the PS4 being mentioned. As usual with these things, nothing can be discussed in isolation without a bit of "but Sony". It's a sickness.
How have we got another series s bullying thread. The thing is offering better framerates than ps5 and series x.
If someone wants to try and blame Gotham knoghts being shit because of series s you're on crack!
That's in your case but that's not the norm especially in city areas. No they don't. My friends who game their whole lives don't even know 30 vs 60. Let alone 120. Coworkers don't even know ps4 vs ps5.
Nobody knows what hdmi2.1 is, vrr and so on.
I know only few people who are as knowledgeable about all of this as me and you guys. But I swear. In non programmers circle, people don't know or care
See aboveBy the very definition, a casual gamer would not care about higher frame rates compared to an enthusiast gamer.
How many casuals even have 120hz displays and set them up properly. If they are enthusiast enough to get 120hz displays for gaming, they're not casuals.
Your definition of what a casual gamer is, is very skewed.
But that one developer who hasn't worked on Gotham Knights said Series S is responsible for it being 30 FPS on PS5/Series X.
A lot of folks ran with what he said in the last thread and look how the final game turned out across the board.![]()
Bullying? Series S is NOT a person. How have we got another series s bullying thread. The thing is offering better framerates than ps5 and series x.

All you have to do is go to a bestbuy to buy a tv(a common place in the states to buy electronics and games)and the sales person will pitch 120fps tv to you if you are a gamer.
Great games! GT7 is probably my GOTY since I put the most hours into that game than any other.

See above
Ya boy Riky would be mad at you. Many a triggered or empathy emoji were given when we used to say that."Casuals" don't care about 120 FPS.
Lower textures sizes to N64 level, run game at 20fps, run game at 480p.Will Series S hold back multiplatform games? How can this issue even be sorted out?
funny part is I just saw gotham knights run on a steam deck at 30fps (sometimes higher, sometimes with drops during open world movement) theres no way a PS5/XSX shouldnt be able to get a 60fps mode for this lolGotham Knights says hi.
Take the S out of the equation and you still have 30fps "next gen" games for both XBox and PS5.
If you told a salesman that you gamed on an Atari 2600 he would try to sell you a 120hz TV for gaming.I promise you that less than 5% of the people playing Call of Duty on a console are doing it at 120fps. The same salesmen will try and pitch you an 8K TV because it's "the future", but nobody's buying one.

and then the consumer would take the tv home and keep the motion smoothing option on.All you have to do is go to a bestbuy to buy a tv(a common place in the states to buy electronics and games)and the sales person will pitch 120fps tv to you if you are a gamer.
Bullying? Series S is NOT a person.
And no one is talking about Gotham Knights here. The dev is specfically talking about next gen games in development TODAY. Gotham Knights is a last gen game that simply dropped last gen support at the very end of its dev cycle.
I mean that only if XSS is going to be unviable in the future, I'm not convinced that will be the case. That can be an acceptable option going into next-gen, like FS on the X1. It's not acceptable for XSS buyers for current-gen games though, they bought a local play box.
Obviously cloud can be an option just as it is today. There are games that have RT on cloud but don't in local play on XSS, thus if you don't have a problem with the latency and don't mind the video compression, that can be an option for you.
Thats pretty impressive but the visual downgrade is massive.
For AAA gaming? PC specs are usually that of the min spec console. Min spec consoles are what pushes the PC min spec forward so PC gamers are not stuck on the vast majority of their low end hardware that usually AA/Indie focuses on.For devs that complain about old console tech, how many of them release PC games with only high minimum system requirements? Hardly any.
Never mind Series S, most console game makers are still supporting Xbox One and PS4.
Ya boy Riky would be mad at you. Many a triggered or empathy emoji were given when we used to say that.
Many modern tv's auto switch(ALLM) or suggest game mode when a console is plugged in.and then the consumer would take the tv home and keep the motion smoothing option on.
again we need to define 'casual' gamer, also a game can attract 'casual' gamers and 'enthusiast' gamers
TCL and Hisense make excellent low priced HDMI 2.1 tv's.OK but if you're a casual you wouldn't give a damn about FPS, you'll want the cheapest display option. The best buy rep will sell you the fanciest thing, that's his job.
I don't know why this is the hill you're choosing to fight for lol.
Most "casual" gamers play Fortnite on their phone, not a TV at all.
This is crazy talk.I promise you that less than 5% of the people playing Call of Duty on a console are doing it at 120fps. The same salesmen will try and pitch you an 8K TV because it's "the future", but nobody's buying one.

Yes they do care about performance as like I said already most of todays top games have
ca·su·al
adjective
Definition: relaxed and unconcerned.
This is crazy talk.
and? Many modern tv's auto switch(ALLM) or suggest game mode when a console is plugged in.
Maybe they don't believe that those features will help much in practice or they might be hard to implement. 224 GBs per second is very low for the current generation thoughOf course they have access.
Yet Scorn is first game to use DirectStorage. Forspoken is second known (on PC only).
VRS 2.0 is used sparingly, Mesh Shaders is not used in any game (as far as I know). Same for SFS.
So, devs have all those unused tools and many of them are literally to get around main complaint about Series S (memory) and yet they are not using them.
They been caring since the ps3/360 days. But if you care about performance, you're not a casual gamer![]()
Those games have 120 fps options which they can play on the casual gaming TV the bestbuy rep sold them.I think your definition of casual is the crazy talk and why you're being told the exact same thing by multiple people. Casuals barely even know what a framerate is let alone own a 120hz TV. They're the people who play COD and FIFA/NFL each year and that's it.
60fps in the PS3/360 day isn't even CLOSE to the same thing, we were playing on 60hz sets in the 90s. By 2006 it was a standard. 120fps is not a standard and won't be for a while.
And that's what the sales man pitches to them and they walk out with a casual priced 120fps capable TCL or Hisense.and?
that doesn't change the importance that they put on gaming and their setup
The exclusives got smaller and became a market for indies instead of AAA developers.Consoles never held back PCs in the past because in the past PCs actually had big budget exclusives so it didn't matter.
and then when a game is running at 30/60, they will be continue to be fine playing the game without caring. And that's what the sales man pitches to them and they walk out with a casual priced 120fps capable TCL or Hisense.
Again ALLM automatically switches the settings to game mode.
How have we got another series s bullying thread.
If all these devs feel strongly about the Series S, I would avoid development for Microsoft until they change their tune.
For me its a night and day difference going 60 to 120 but have had several friends try 120 and say they can't even tell a difference in games like Fortnite"Casuals" don't care about 120 FPS.
Not the COD type of casuals.and then when a game is running at 30/60, they will be continue to be fine playing the game without caring.
