How many games have you paid full price in the last year?

Astrobot and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Deluxe Edition. Had to study a lot last year, so my game time was really cut.
This year will probably be Ghost of Yotei, GTA 6, Shinobi AoR e Ninja Gaiden Ragebound - love me some 2D ninja games.

Well does it count as full price if I bought it on Steam for less than it's original cost?

If so lemme think

Monster Hunter Wilds
FF Rebirth (discounted before launch on Steam, so maybe it doesn't count?)
Path of Exile 2 (kinda free, cuz you get points for microtransactions with the purchase, but I bought the 100 dollar package)
Black Myth Wukong
Tekken 8
Elden Ring DLC
Horizon Forbidden West (Steam pricing)
Dragonball Sparking Zero
Granblue Fantasy Relink (Jan 2024, but close enough)
Dragon's Dogma 2

think that's it.

Only two games did I pay full price for in the last twelve months. Alone In The Dark (2024) and Silent Hill 2 (2024).

The former I knew was a fool's errand--a game that would rapidly plummet in price as no one was going to buy it. Still, I wanted to vote with my wallet and tell the industry that I want these types of games to keep existing, so I pre-ordered. No complaints, the game was worth the asking price to me. I had a very good time with it and would've pre-ordered a sequel instantly had the game not predictably been a major flop and the studio been shuttered.

SH2 felt like a no brainer to me. Everything I'd seen had told me that it was right up my alley, and I thoroughly enjoyed the game and the many hours I spent with it. If they make a DLC out of the Born From A Wish sub-scenario, it's an instant buy from me. Felt good to play a new real Silent Hill title since there hadn't been one in thirteen years. (I don't count P.T. or The Short Message as the former was only a demo, though amazing, and the latter was such a stretch it was given away for free and still not a good title whose connection to the franchise is spiritual at best.

Usually I buy from key sites or on sale on Steam, so I almost never buy games at full price.

There are a few I had to buy on Steam at full price day one, most likely because I couldn't find them cheaper elsewhere.

2024:
Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Ys X: Nordics

2025:
Trails through Daybreak II

Astrobot
Avowed (super duper edition or whatever)
Donkey Kong
Mario Brotherhood
Helldivers 2
Mario vs DK
GOTG Balatro x 4
Stalker 2
Rise of the Ronin
Paper Mario
Sonic x Shadow whatever
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD
Space Marine 2
Predator Hunting Grounds
Mario Party Jamboree

Probably forgetting a few and there are some that were on sale.

None. I buy on discounts and mostly thanks to the constant broken Day 1 release I learn to be patience with game releases.

This week I bought:

Not really sure, at least 6-8 but there is a good chance it was more then that. If I truly want a game I'll buy it day 1 to support the company

3 full price: FFVII Rebirth, Helldivers 2 and TLU2 Remastered.

5 day one with discounts: Stellar Blade, Rise of The Ronin, Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition, Dragons Dogma 2 and Death Stranding (Xbox version).

Completely full price on release date, only 2. Astrobot and Silent Hill 2.

Right outside of a year I also picked up Granblue Fantasy: Relink day one.

Dragon's Dogma 2
Both Tomb Raider Trilogy Remasters
Homeworld 3
Sins of a Solar Empire 2
WARNO
Total War Warhammer 3

I would've paid full price for Astrobot and FF7 Rebirth but they happened to be on sale when I was ready to play them.

Probably would've bought Avowed, Indiana Jones and Planet of Lana at launch if not for Game Pass

Pretty much everything is discounted day one on PC. So while I buy a ton of games at release, they're almost never full price.

Zero. I never buy at full price.

Edit:
Damn, I have to correct myself. I bought Baldur's Gate 3 physical even though I am fully digital. That's two rules I broke at once for that game.

Dragon's Dogma 2
SH2
Wukong
TMNT: Splinters of Fate
Hades 2
PoE 2
ER DLC
+countless PC only Indy games like Ravenswatch.

Everything else I played on Game Pass. From Stalker 2 to Avowed.

I'm assuming you mean AAA games? If not, probably too many to truly count. For example, I bought something like balatro day 1 but that's a $10 game ( I think, can't remember the release price but I know it was cheap).

$60 and up I recall stellar blade, Astro bot, LoZ echoes of wisdom, Mario party jamboree, wu Kong and Metaphor refantazio just off the top of my head. Probably more

Lemme see…

Alone in the Dark
System Shock Remake
Space Marine 2
Silent Hill 2
Mario & Luigi Brotherhood
The Thing Remaster

That’s it. It was not for the lack of wanting though but there were the games released last year that interested me and I was able to play them close to release. I only pay full price when I can play them immediately (or for dev support).

Full price ?

All on PC:

STALKER 2
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (CE)
Red Dead Redemption
Silent Hill 2
Ghost of Tsushima
Horizon Forbidden West

And then there were about 20 more I got on sales or bundles.

In the last year full price
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- Marvel vs Capcom Collection
- FF7 Rebirth (will not be buying or playing the 3rd game, huge mistake to pay full price for this garbage)

Everything else has been a sale or discount of some kind.

Hell Divers 2 (Over a year ago I guess)
Unicorn Overlord
World of Warcraft: The War Within
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania
Path of Exile II (early access $30)

Pretty sure that is it, 3 of those being expansions. I waited for Space Marine 2 and FF7 Rebirth to go on sale, waited for Balatro to go on sale. I subbed to Ubisoft for 1 month to play Star Wars Outlaws and then unsubbed. Subbed to Gamepass for 1 month to play Persona 4 reload and then unsubbed. Going to do that again for Indiana Jones soon.

About half of them, mainly the ones I buy for my kids ps5, other than that I tend to buy on pc from official stores but still they're usually cheaper than full price.

Last game that I bought near full price was Ys X Nordics on Steam. Game that I bought before at launch/full price was Tears of Kingdom, which I effectively played exclusively for an entire year...
I only buy a game when I'm ready to play. Having very limited time and tend to play a game for a long time at leisurely pace, I cannot just buy a game and put it in my backlog.
I found out that I get gaming burnt out by having too big of backlog... which I found out back in my "collecting" days.
And since I only buy on my time table, it turns out a lot of games that interest me goes on deep sales, like 30-80% off.

None.

I buy all my games from CDKeys or Green Man Gaming.

In 2024, I purchased Black Myth Wukong, Space Marine 2, Helldivers 2 and Metal Gear Solid 1/2 Master Collection at least 25% lower than their Steam price.

Why pay more when you can pay less?

Happy with most of these purchases. I just wished I waited with TR to get the retail version.
