I just don't understand why people are invested like this
Internet
It gave voice to people. And because of that, everyone thinks their voice matter in these type of deal.

All of our 90 page discusion means nothing honestly. These type of stuff is being fought by big firm lawyers. Unless you are a lawyer, your opinions means nothing, due to not having the documents, which supports your point. Judges would dismiss all the claim made here, because of how insignificant they are.

Because MS, Tencent and co are paying big money. It's not because Activision was having financial trouble though. So if nobody buys ABK, EA and Take 2 I don't see how being independent isn't better.
Perhaps you should ask your questions directly to the shareholders of ABK, EA, and Take 2 how they feel about that..

If ABK or these other companies are shopping themselves around to be bought - there's an underlying reason why they're doing that... It's very possible that ABK may be in (some form of) financial trouble and we don't know it...

At the end of the day - all of these corporations are held directly accountable to their shareholders to make a profit for ROI - not the general public or gaming customers that they serve..

Activision was on the seat of scandal. Because of that the board wanted an out, which is why they offered themselves for sale.
If it werent for that, activision wouldnt have been up for sale at all.

They are worth 30%-40% of entire Sony division, due to how much money they make. No one wants to sell that cash cow company. MS were super lucky with this.

Fanboys and console warriors are all retarded. Xbox is nowhere near being or becoming a monopoly in regards to acquisitions, and to challenge their moves so far is more disingenuous than anything else being whined about here.

Microsoft acquisitions are great as far as I'm concerned. I anxiously await the foretold weeaboo meltdown apocalypse. The doomsday where more Japanese games start to show up on Xbox to round out their lacking 1st party library. The day when all the disheveled, biased platform warrior haters begin to lose their collective shit and cry about betrayal and other such nonsense.

All the meltdown drama would be more entertaining than any lineup of games from any of the platform holders over the last few years.

To whichever limp-dicked CMA crack-addict is reading this,

What the fuck is wrong with you? You think I'm going to pay $15 a month for unlimited access to all of Xbox's content when I can pay $70+ per game on PlayStation? Piss all the way off right now you weird-toothed European bastards!

Maybe you've been living under a rock, but the patriarchy is doing just fine. Microsoft can crawl all the way inside my asshole, because we're keeping Kotick. Women love frat culture, and you uneducated ball-gazers need to quit being pussies and give them what they need.

Xbox doesn't even have games. There's Forza Horizon Five Fingers in the Asshole, and Halo: Infinite Anal. Master Queef can lick my blue-haired taint. Jim Ryan could kick Phil Spencer's ass twice with one hand, and with the other hand he'd just be jerking it the entire time. That's a real man.

Lick every testicle,

Agree with part. Dont be a fanboy, return to monke.

Stroke of luck. Nothing more.
Zenimax= short on money.
Activision= Sexual scandal, which forced the company to sell.
MS arent that great on acquision, aside of few key devs. They are shit when it comes to that. OG-X360 is proof of that.

Wont happen. Xbox is kinda dead in japan. MS needs Japanese games to attract them. Even with that, its not enough. Ps5, which is in better position than xbox is having a hard time, due to nintendo pure dominance. Xbox wont get a chance.

Nah, that is a dream. Wont happen at all.

Xbox doesnt need that kind of stuff. They need consistancy. Plus they need 1 more gen to reach that level. At most, they are now at ps3 level of 1st party. You dont produce awsome games out of the gate. You need time and consistancy to reach the level, which Sony are in. That is not easy task.

Yeah ABK got an offer 45% above market value then of course they would. Not sure I've seen them in financial trouble though. Maybe.

Everyone knows that Activision's biggest financial trouble is Koticks salary.

Dear CMA,

Microsoft just shot themselves in the foot.
I don't know how much you know about gaming culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in Politics where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Gaming, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the gaming public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase COD for either system, nor will they purchase any of Microsofts games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Microsoft has alienated an entire market with this move.
Microsoft, needs to publicly apologize and cancel the Activision Blizzard acquisition or Microsoft can kiss their business goodbye.

That'll show 'em!

I mean he is not wrong, the more stuff MS owns the less Sony can block from going to GamePass

Ghibli Lol GIF

and the more games come to gamepass, the more Sony will need to start considering putting all their games into PS+

You're missing the point. Fuck Xbox's hopeless presence in Japan.

The point is to get 1st party Japanese games on Xbox in the rest of the world, and the joke here is how it will inevitably nuke the minds of the anti-Xbox weeaboo scene.

MS are trying their best to win the hearts and minds with as much Japanese content they already have m.

That depends on MS having a brain.

Sega exist. Like seriously, they wanted to be part of Xbox ecosystem. But MS is dumb as hell, as to not target them.

1st party japanese games depends on how MS view their relationship with Sega. Since that is important key for Xbox japanese games.

UK Regulatory Board Is Asking Public Opinion On Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Proposal

The United Kingdom's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is still weighing the industry costs and benefits of approving the $68.7 billion Activision Blizzard acquisition deal proposed by Microsoft, and now it is opening the floor for comment by the general public. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the government authority on October 20 posted a lengthy explanation of its role in the proposed acquisition deal on a UK government Website,

Microsoft had scored a big win early in the month, as a regulatory board in Brazil approved the acquisition with no restrictions, but the company's initial pitch to the CMA in the United Kingdom was met with some initial concerns. The move by the CMA this week opens the floor to anyone who would like to weigh in on the topic, although the authority has noted it will not likely have the time or resources to issue a response to every individual concern it receives.

As per the government Website, the agency is only looking at three "theories of harm" that its members are concerned may be brought about by approving the acquisition. Those theories center on potential negative market effects, which could include damage to competing consoles, game subscription services, and cloud gaming. "The CMA can only look at the effects of the merger that are related to a loss of competition," the Website clarifies. The posting on the Website comes just a day after Microsoft issued to the CMA a response that the most profitable intellectual property it seeks to acquire, the Call of Duty franchise, wouldn't be able to go on its Xbox GamePass service "for a number of years" due to pre-existing agreements with top competitor Sony PlayStation.
Additionally, the Website provides a handy info graphic explaining where the CMA currently sits in its process.

merger-investigation-Cropped.jpg

The purpose of the current stage of the investigation is for the authority to build on it's first phase and "gather more evidence from the merging businesses and others to investigate potential issues with competition that could arise as a result of the merger." Once the second phase has been completed, the CMA will move on to analyzing its evidence, producing its provisional findings, and issuing a final report.
Those who wish to offer commentary to the CMA may contact it at microsoft.activision@cma.gov.uk, although the authority requests that anyone who issues such an e-mail does so only after thoroughly reading through its informational Website and the documents on its related investigation page.

Having followed the link to the gov.uk to read all the stuff, it appears gamesindustry.biz has misreported what they are looking for people to contribute - unless I missed a link.

This is what the contact subsection says, and AFAIK it is the only currently open deadline for submissions to the email address. And those submissions need to be about further issues of competition beyond what is identified in the phase 1 findings, An example might be telling them that all issues with WIndows, Azure for competition they identified are actually all about DirectX being proprietary closed source and only available on Microsoft OSes.

Issues statement

14 October 2022: The issues statement sets out the scope of the inquiry. It outlines initial theories on what might be adversely affecting competition, but it does not set out findings or conclusions. The deadline for submissions on the issues statement is 28 October 2022.

And lower down, the earlier general invitation to comment - everyone thinks this is about, - has already expired. as seen below

Launch of merger inquiry

6 July 2022: The CMA announced the launch of its merger inquiry by notice to the parties.

Invitation to comment: closes on 20 July 2022

6 July 2022: The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is considering whether it is or may be the case that this transaction, if carried into effect, will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.

To assist it with this assessment, the CMA invites comments on the transaction from any interested party.

These comments should be provided by the deadline set out above.

Agreed. It gave voice to the people and we discovered the people were even dumber than we previously thought.

I guess I just get confused is when there are consumers going to bat for corporations like it's their job.
