I thought this was going to be a "Game Awards" announcement. Still good either way. Hopefully the sequel is more seamless than the first while keeping to its Metroid roots (and it is sounding like that is what they are working towards). Also more character customization given that this is a third-person game. Narratively, just keep up what was done on the first.

. . .also, a Blaster? I can't remember much about the first, but was there a Blaster in that one?

Man, first quarter of 2023 is looking to be pretty wild, lol. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this! Hope it delivers, and then some! Really enjoyed the first game.

So we are still playing Cal.

Was honestly hoping for a prequel playing as Trilla up till she becomes second sister.
They didnt even give us Trillas story as DLC.

But ill take whatever I can get.

Have they shown a single second of gameplay of this yet?
Nope. Very odd.

But then again they did the same with NFS and it came out a week before they said it will. Not too buggy either.

The 15th of March gives me Anthem, ME3 and Andromeda vibes though. EA has a habit of pushing out big releases before their fiscal year ends and they almost always end up shipping with huge bugs. Literally incomplete in Andromeda's case and missing an ending in ME3.

I have a feeling that this will be a rather underwhelming next gen only game like Dead Space and NFS Unbound, but these specs give me hope. If minimum is a 6 tflops 580 then we are probably looking at 1080p 30 fps target for that which means next gen consoles are targeting 1440p 30 fps. or 1080p 60 fps instead of native 4k 60 fps like they do in NFS.

I loved the first game, will definitely be playing this one.

Yes. Thats what recommended settings always have been unless they specify otherwise. Recommended has never been max settings nor high FPS. Maybe with DLSS/FSR sure.

Plague Tale has this and its also next gen. It's highly unlikely this will be a 1080 60 fps ultra with a 2070.

  • RECOMMENDED:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 (20H1 64 bits)
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K (3.7 GHz) / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6 GHz)
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: 8 GB, GeForce RTX 3070/Radeon RX 6800 XT
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 55 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: 60 FPS, 1920x1080 in ultra. SSD storage is recommended.

So no more ponchos

Thank God

For a game releasing in March, we have seen too little of it so far
I believe they will be showing it at TGAs, and I assume there will be a marketing push with gameplay dives, etc., following up to release.

I wonder if we will get a Cal cameo in Andor season 2, or one of the other live action shows.

UE5 and not cross-gen. The first one looked great, so I imagine this will up the ante on that.

I've always been playing at 60 FPS with recommended settings. Even Plague Tale Requiem on my RTX 2060 Super. Doesn't mean max settings but high? For sure.

I still have nightmares about the level design in the first one, I need good reviews to buy this at full price.

Already confirmed to be UE5.

FPS game yes but we have no confirmation of Survivor using it. ;)

Respawn Entertainment has used the Unreal Engine before, with the previous version (Unreal Engine 4) being put to good use to create Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with Jedi: Survivor using either Unreal Engine 4 or 5. (It's possible for games initially developed in the previous version to get an upgrade mid-development, but as of this time, no statement on Survivor's engine has been given.)

Guess pre orders are going live this Thursday after whatever they show on TGA, I just hope it releases in a better state than the last one.

I dislike the concept of pre-order bonuses immensely but that yellow Luke jacket is dope.

Don't pre-order that's for saps, also the last one went on sale months after release.

Nope, the first one was great and I want this game in my hands as soon as possible.
