A tweet which mentions nothing about a "victory for Ukraine". Simply a "win-win" for Microsoft and Boosteroid.
"Victory for Ukraine" was all Brad Smith.

My man, when the Ukrainian government official isn't even saying "victory for Ukraine" or anything even close to that in his tweet what do you think Brad Smith is doing?
Let's be honest, Brad Smith is the same guy who created the 'all xbox games will come to Nintendo platforms' confusion, he's not exactly the most tactile tweeter.
But this still doesn't make people implying that MS made them change their location on twitter any more kosher.
Maybe I am giving him too much credit.Let's be honest, Brad Smith is the same guy who created the 'all xbox games will come to Nintendo platforms' confusion, he's not exactly the most tactile tweeter.
He's also the guy that referenced Blockbuster when addressing Sony to regulators. So yeh, great communicator.
Given the timing of all this give me another reason why a business would voluntarily change their primary business location to a warzone. I'm intrigued, you seem to be a big believer in coincidences.

Note the mandatory pricing discounts that are mentioned there. That's a significant difference between MS's deal to Sony and that one.The same company that is arguing against behavioral remedies and a limited 10 year deal in the activation case is offering exactly that for their own merger with Zee entertainment in India. Keep in mind the combined market share of Sony pictures and Zee entertainment post-merger will be significantly greater than that of Xbox+ABK.

Not risky? What happens if Miyazaki quits or is hit by a bus?
You can't look at their annual revenue, they put out a game every 4-5 years and those games consistently sell like gangbusters. Not many studios have multiple 30 million copy sellers.
The timing of the changes are suspect. Even the blog posts kinda start leaning in to Ukraine when the war starts. Before that Ukraine is listed at the end of their lists with Romania listed first.Maybe I'm looking at the change in location with less cynicism, and more so that the booster guys changed it to get more eye balls on Ukraine, either self-servicingly because they have offices and teams there, or selflessly. If MS starts continuously talking about how much they're investing in Ukraine in their future communication to EC/CMA then it'll be sus.
No. Khan is just a trophy for regulators in a sense that she is a sword against big corporation. She tested theories. That’s how you break ground and that’s why Khan intends on going to court often, even it’s a tough case there might be things they can take away.
No. Khan is just a trophy for regulators in a sense that she is a sword against big corporation.
There are tons of issues that she is not addressing. And in the process, she is losing high quilified lawyers to these big corporation.
There are wars that you can fight, and those that you cant. Khan needs to understand that. So far, she isnt utlitizing her agency very well.
And they actually got something out of that case, the judge ruled against them, but he also mentioned that burgeoning markets can be monopolized, I predict we will %100 see that shit get used against Microsoft on cloud gaming. She tested theories. Meanwhile electricity companies are actually gouging consumers
There was article about problems inside the ftc, and how some people disagreed with her, quiting the job and going to other companies. You know nothing John Noob.
“We don’t control the global gas/energy prices”Meanwhile electricity companies are actually gouging consumers
So someone "implies" something and you are wagging your finger, but you'll bend over backwards defending the Vice President of Microsoft for flatly stating this deal is a "victory for Ukraine"?
If you are going to start pointing fingers at less than "kosher" stuff then why don't you start there?

I'm not defending him, he's got a recent history of making half-baked tweets. I'm also not wagging my finger at anyone, just pointing out that maybe y'all are being a little too jumpy coming to conclusions.
I already said that guy makes weird tweets which cause confusion.
Brad Smith's "half-baked tweets" are the reason for all of this. And yes, you absolutely did wag your finger at myself and others. You quoted many of us directly.
I have no idea how we are being "too jumpy" while you also say that the Vice President of Microsoft "makes weird tweets",
Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
Big Tech is the boogie man de jour.“We don’t control the global gas/energy prices”
Meanwhile, it’s been produced, sold, and distributed by the same parent company that’s seeing 50%+ YoY profit increases.
It’s what happens when mega corps are left unchecked for decades, creating monopolies through strategic consolidation and vertical integration.
Using one tweet to come to a conclusion that the whole thing is 'sus' is absolutely being too jumpy, come on man.

Big Tech is the boogie man de jour.
Why do I have to point out the fact that one tweet comes from the Vice President of Microsoft?
You already called Brad Smith "sus" yourself, dude.
Yeah, because we're jumping to conclusions based on a tweet from a guy who made half the internet think all of Xbox's catalog is coming to Nintendo platforms.
That's the sussiest thing.![]()
Okay, and? What, you think people are going to suddenly say "behavioral remedies are A.OK"? If the behavioral remedies Sony offer for Zee would be too difficult to enforce and have too much wiggle room for BS, then shut those offers down too and keep structural remedies in play. Same with MS's lame duck behavioral remedies for ABK.
Some people here are actually about the principal of the matter, not if a favorite company's doing it or not. If an acquisition could create anticompetitive habits and encourage a deeper weakening of the competition in the market, then either block those deals or impose some structural remedies there even if they're alongside some behavioral ones.
Sony buying Take Two on only weak behavioral remedies would get the same reaction out of me as Microsoft trying to buy ABK with similar weak behavioral remedies. But only one of these are actually in the process of (potentially) happening right now.
I don't think Sony would need behavioral remedies to buy T2.
GTA is comparable to COD. Sells about 15M units a year. T2 total revenue is now $5B (because of Zynga) when compared to ABK ~$9B.I don't think Sony would need behavioral remedies to buy T2.
It's a much smaller company with much smaller annual revenue. Their games sell very well, but there isn't a single title that has annual revenue-driving power like CoD.
Holy crap it averages 17.5 million copies sold a year. That doesn't include shark cards for the online portion. No different than COD. Which is 800-900 million a yearI don't think Sony would need behavioral remedies to buy T2.

Why is this hypothetical always being discussed. Take Two isn’t for sale lol.

Some of GTA Online's money math is surprising.screenrant.com
With around $911 million generated in 12 months, GTA Online makes an enormous amount of money per minute, according to NetBet.

Actually comes out every 10 years.Everything is for sale.
In no universe is GTA that comes out once every 6 years comparable to COD.
GTA is routinely on sale. CoD releases a new version every year for 70 bucks... has way more revenue from MTX.
That anyone thinks these two are comparable is hilarious.
a stupid one, thats talked to death. That's why it's hypothetical.
You know thats not true.Everything is for sale.
Tony Hawk and Crash. Sekiro would be a great Permanant addition(if From can agree), since it was GOTY.Anyways, what games are you guys most excited to play on GamePass if the deal goes through? I know a lot of people have said that they are keen to try out the SP campaigns of previous CoD titles.
Except it bought itself back in the early 2010s, because Vivendi was selling. Rumors were also spreading years before this sale.Activision wasn’t for sale either.
I’m not exactly sure what I just skimmed through over the past 20 pages, but at this rate, I’m gonna need a good bourbon when this thread hits 1000 pages…
apr 15-23???*Listening to my UK drill playlist and scrollling through the last five pages of comments *
So......er......nothing new to report?..... man..... see ya'll in a few days!
When is the CMA descision again? doesnt seem like much woth talking about other that theories and wishful thinking, at the moment. We need some meaningful new news on this beyond random tweets from key exces about it and trying to make.... something ....out of it
I am gonna need a full bucket of kfc with all the drama once the results are out.I’m not exactly sure what I just skimmed through over the past 20 pages, but at this rate, I’m gonna need a good bourbon when this thread hits 1000 pages…

Anyways, what games are you guys most excited to play on GamePass if the deal goes through? I know a lot of people have said that they are keen to try out the SP campaigns of previous CoD titles.
My most anticipated are probably for nostalgic reasons:
1, The Tony Hawk games
2, The Sypro remakes - mostly for my girl
3, I still have a Guitar Hero Live cause I'm obviously a virgin. Would be nice if that was backward compatible.
