God if you here me, if you let arsenal win the premier league, I will change my mind on this deal and support it, and fly down to FTC hq to convince Lina khan to let it go. Cause as usual the bastards are gonna bottle it.

Sony isn't going to spend $40 billion on a game publisher (what it would take for EA or Epic).. even spending half that would be a stretch.

This forum loves to talk about pointless hypotheticals.

Eh. Someone claimed Sony has no legal or financial ability to make a huge purchase. I simply argued that they do but clarified that I don't think they would. I'm just bored. Fight me.

Sorry but Arsenal are doing an impersonation of Spurs. It's over now.

Look at this clown. Lol.

We're speaking in hypothetical situations. I don't honestly believe Sony is going after Epic or EA
I disagree.

I feel Sony would go for Epic and it wouldn't even be for video games. This would be more for Sony Pictures and Sony Sports divisions. Their movie business is quite entangled with Epic. Epic is expensive and Sony would need to take quite some debt.

What, you don't love paying subscriptions to use Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud? Because that's the endgame goal here, to turn gaming into Netflix. You will own nothing and be happy, even if it becomes necessary to destroy Sony and Nintendo to accomplish this goal!
Umm, you do know you can still buy Office outright?
For some companies it is cheaper to use subscription services. Just like Xbox and games, you can choose a subscription model, or you can buy them outright, or even do both.
Why you would be against having more options baffles me.

To be fair, bottling it is still a big improvement for Arsenal over their usual performance :messenger_beaming:

So when was the date Sony had to provide the third party contracts by? 3 rounds of delays and it seems to have been quite a while now...Also find it interesting the regulators didn't want 3 years but MS went 10 and Sony got their limit on these contracts to 2019, seems pretty skewed.

Think of the hurdles Microsoft has had to go through because they had one competitor against the deal. Every game developer from small to big would be against it. The harm to competition would be immeasurable if Sony restricted access to Unreal Engine.
Again did MS get any hurdles for acquiring Havok? Literally every big name franchise was using that engine right down to Horizon Zero Dawn who had to develop a new in house physics engine for Horizon Forbidden West.

Are you expecting to see those contracts? Doesn't seem like you understand how this works.
