Hope the shootings solid, will make or break the game for me. Dunno if I'm better of waiting on the 60fps patch with zelda out next week. Have Arcane said when that's due?

I expect the shooting to be roughly on the same level as DEATHLOOP with a bit more polish. Would feel silly to have it otherwise; like no way is it going to feel as good as something like THE DIVISION or even FAR CRY, but I'm putting my money on it being "good enough" to not feel like a distraction.

"Redfall is an anomaly because a game with this good of a team behind can’t possibly be this bad, and yet, it is. There are these drips of looter shooter, RPG, and multiplayer elements sprinkled throughout, but none of them work together, delivering a messy and almost incomprehensible experience. Still, gunplay and exploration stay consistently fun, thanks to the satisfaction of taking down enemies and the level design. That being said, the single-player campaign is dull, but the multiplayer campaign could provide bouts of fun comprised of laughing at the strange AI behavior or the fact that no one can find keys to a door."

Then you have the sections where the reviewer complains about not being led by the nose to an objective. I imagine more than a few reviews are going to be like this, but this review screams like a game that needs to be played yourself if even any part of it looks fun.

. . .also laughing at the idea that good development teams can't make bad games and RF just stumbles along to prove everyone wrong.

I have no idea why, but apparently the game ISN'T on a global release as it appears to be available to play using the time-zone trick. Not sure how GP on consoles works but if you wanted to try the game out you may be able to.

First impressions (XSX):
- 30 fps is painful after so many years playing performance mode;
- game is kinda ugly even compared to other similar games like Atomic Heart… in performance mode;
- surprisingly there’s very little aim assist and controls are responsive (despite the 30 fps issue);
- haven’t unlocked powers yet.

Will try the PC version once it’s available, hoping for 1080p60 med settings.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I'll probably check it out for PC, since it's on Game Pass. Not expecting anything stellar, but who knows.

I'll be getting it on PC but I'm kinda worried because of the recent PC releases having performance issues. I've had no real issues with Arkane's other games on PC (played Deathloop on PS5), so maybe it'll be alright.

A few people who played the game PC are reporting heavy stuttering issues. (RTX 3080).

Have there been any reports about the pc performance?

After all, It could mean that the most horror we´ll have from this game is Unreal Engine stuttering :messenger_face_screaming:

Got about 40 mins in before the servers died. Game is pretty rough. Gunplay at 30fps feels horrible and the motion blur they use is seriously off putting. Dead zones make it worse. Lighting is about the only good thing it has going for it visually. Some textures appear very flat at times. It would take a very good campaign and a much better gameplay loop to redeem this for me personally.
