Ive seen the term "F around and find out" in terms of sony and ms and exlusives vs buying publishers. MS will "F around and find out" if say... Apple comes knocking on that Sony door and Playstation + Apple happens at some point.

I'm having trouble imagining how any sort of Apple deal would be equally beneficial for Sony and Apple.
 
Aus and NZ are no concern to this merger, we are not a big enough market down here even both countries combined. We have had the federal gov try to reprimand some of the big tech companies for years over various things and nothing ever comes from it and the Gov never seems to give a shit and play hardball. None of our politicians are young enough to have a fucking clue about this, maybe in 30 years when the generation who grew up with tech we might get a few in government that have a clue.
 


I am certainly exaggerating because I am against the deal, but in my eyes downplay the cloud gaming is becoming increasingly ridiculous when i read this news

They've been saying that they want to do this for years. Even your OS will be heavily subscription based for features you once had prior buying fullfat.

I was half joking about this not so long ago. It's the obvious next step for them. It's likely to be the "new MS ecosystem" the FTC mention.

This has been a thing for them and cloud is the end game, which the CMA recognized, as well as the EC.

These recent documents that surfaced yesterday, why didn't they appear before day 1 of the hearing began? Why didn't the FTC didn't ask Matt Booty and phil Spencer about the contents of these leaked emails?

Or is it that these emails were recently unredacted? If yes, why?

I did not understand it at all. Can anybody shed some light on this please?

Why not? AMD is an American company. Japan loves the iPhone as well.

For the record, I don't think that would happen, but a partnership (not purchase) would not be denied by Japan.

Because the interested party (The FTC) already uses them and their publicity no longer harms their work and strategy.

John Linneman is just another shill after all. I'm pretty convinced then that the whole of Digital Foundry have an anti-PS bias. With Richard, he was a Saturn fanboy back in the '90s and probably is stupid enough to blame Sony for "killing Sega", holding that resentment to this day. Alex is a PCMR bro, so there's probably resentment that historically Sony 1P have been making arguably the best-looking games on the market and for a very long time he couldn't play them on his hobbled-together PCMR rigs. John is harder to peg down, but I'm guessing at the very least he's been heavily influenced by Richard. The new guys I dunno about, but they're probably similar to Alex.

One of the best things about this whole saga is that it's finally getting these people to expose who they really are. That will make it easier to ignore them in the future, even if they want to grift and try to change their ways. A reversal isn't deserving of immediate acceptance IMHO; actual change would take years, and I personally wouldn't want to see the same corporate shilling, toxic fanboy mentality only with a Sony mask instead of a Microsoft one. The tendencies and attitudes themselves are the problem, not simply which camp they're a part of.

Look, I'll say I appreciate John's DF Retro stuff, but he's hardly the only source for that type of insight or content. There are others, I know of a few, and others still will do their take. I don't care if they prefer Xbox, actually, but it's one thing to prefer a console and another thing to believe in & peddle outright lies & FUD talking points against another console that isn't your preference. Too many of these gaming influencers with big enough platforms who should know better, have basically stooped down to the level of Crapgaming.

They just use slightly bigger words from time to time. That's maybe the only difference (besides not being completely irrelevant).
