Microsoft Lawyer is digging so hard into the statistics and his "models" and showing how it was false that the FTC lawyer won't even have anything to argue back. Good lord she is absolutely good.

Can't get more "pro-consumer" than that.

And you're being disingenuous in implying FF is a multiplat series.
Sorry but this is just too much for me :messenger_tears_of_joy:

At some point people need to accept that if something is right for Sony, then the exact same thing is just as right for MS. If everybody should accept happily FF or SF being removed from Xbox by Sony, then there should be no issue with MS removing games from PS, especially if these aren't even series that were on PS beforehand ;)

Guess I'm just going to wait for a summation. Youtuber KingThrash did summation & commentary of the interviews so far, guess they will do one for today's stuff as well.

I can't seem to get in the Zoom call either.

Welp, fun while it lasted.

No one is saying that 3P exclusives are a bad thing, or that exclusives are a bad thing. At least, I am not.

But when the company making the purchase of an entire 3P publisher, has multiple pieces of evidence indicating a very targeted campaign to put their direct competitor completely out of business, is using money from unrelated sectors to fund that strategy, has contradicted their own conditions for determining the case-by-case of certain exclusivity of specific games, and can leverage a form of predatory pricing to undercut the direct competitor and just shrug it off while potentially forcing competitors to bleed money & go out of business...

Well, that changes a lot of things, doesn't it. You're only focusing on the "what" and turning two blind eyes to the "how". When the "how" in this case is even more important than the "what".

Bruh this thread keeps autoupdating for me and it's making things a pain in the ass to read whilst my phone screen spazzes out to load new replies

I see idiots are still babbling around here and ignoring basic facts like SE games didn't sell on Xbox in the first place so SE was already halfway out the door, and that there's a fundamental difference between getting exclusivity for one franchise and buying one of the industry's largest developer/publisher suites with the intent to forclose competition.

I guess expecting Xbox shills to understand nuance is asking too much.

She is barking a lot but she isn't grasping some of the basic things he has explained multiple times.

They are different models meant to articulate different things. The fact this lawyer has had him explain the 20% conversion of the playstation user subset multiple times is eye-roll inducing. Of course not every playstation user would buy an Xbox — many don't care about COD, also have an Xbox or game on their PC.

This case has been a nightmare for Microsoft, all those leaks gotta have Satya on Edge.

I mean every competitor now knows what their plans were & can act faster striking deals etc...

Companies always love to have that as a secret 👍

If your information is coming from King Thrash then GOD help you.

By far not the only place I get info from, but they're the only ones I saw with summations of the court proceedings up to now in video format with the quotes themselves included. It's either that or people like XboxERA, Derek or Tom Warren on the flip side; if you're going off possible biases then they aren't any better and arguably could be worst.

All the livestreams are down though and I can't get in the Zoom call. If the FTC releases official court transcripts, I'll give them a read.

If you are honestly comparing ONE 3rd party game being exclusive to a console for 1 year to one company outright purchasing a 3rd party developer and making all their content exclusive to their platform forever then you are truly delusional. Also the audience difference between FF and CoD is huge, they are not comparable in any way.

With that said I don't like 3rd party games being exclusive for any amount of time for either platform. But people need to at least be honest when trying to make arguments cause one of these things is not like the other and comes across as corporate cheerleading which is insane to me.

from a business perspective its a disaster, having all this public for Sony and Nintendo to know they can drastically shift there strategy in the future.

It really shows you how important ABK is to MS, it gives credence to how big a deal this acquisition is despite the downplaying
