Phil Spencer made Jimbo kneel.
Probably worse. No mention of 10 years? Seems like they got a different deal than all the others.
Don't worry. Senjutsu will spend all that money on anime waifu pillows and Mikasa. This whole Journey made
- FTC to lose all appeals by humiliation
- CMA to be desperate to resume talks
- Playstation to kneel at the last minute
- SenjutsuSage rich
And most important
- Michael Pachter nailed his prediction
Do we know if the ~$1B number was just Sony's portion (unlikely) of CoD money of the full amount, because if it was just Sony's portion MS now has Game Pass pretty well funded if nobody switches?Fair to say Microsoft benefits more than Sony if CoD continue to dominate on Playstation.

It wasn't even a prediction really. The deal could succeed or fail, binary choice. If he had predicted all the nonsense leading up to it from the start, that would be something.
Has MS' leadership improved or benefitted at least ONE IP since their purchase of said IP?It's going to be historic to see Call of Duty's brand power fall under Microsoft's poor leadership.
I remember when Halo and COD were neck and neck.

Yes
next COD on Gamepass , terms dictated by Microsoft
Obviously worse. MS had the green light to move forward. Sony had to play the catch up game a this point. The question (which may never be answered) is did Sony waiting to the 11th hour allow them to negotiate a better deal or did they accept a worse deal to avoid being left out in the cold.

I think the fact that the CMA saw fit to kill the COD foreclosure theory on consoles is a big hint that the insider data tells us that the idea of COD going exclusive is simply unworkable from a financial POV.Sure, but Microsoft is going to get crucified by the gamer community if they make COD exclusive. Not to mention it would be financially stupid. But it seems some here are eager for Microsoft to go back on their word. Anything to win the console war, I guess.
The main narrative in this topic after CMA initial block was that the deal was dead.It wasn't even a prediction really. The deal could succeed or fail, binary choice. If he had predicted all the nonsense leading up to it from the start, that would be something.
It's a good indication that the initial plan of blocking the deal was changed. So Jim signed the deal. Must be a good indication of what we will hear from the CMA soon-ish?
Otherwise, I would think he would hold out or did he think he would get a worst deal if he waited?
Whatever the narrative here or other places was, MS was still pushing on so it was still a binary choice. No great prediction was made, he wasn't alone in that view. No credit awarded. The main narrative in this topic after CMA initial block was that the deal was dead.
I see the Phillatio will continue in full force. If you guys are impressed by someone spending $70 billion of not their money, you should start looking at the government for some real heroes.
Jimbo didnt have no fight.Fucks sake Jimbo.
I thought COD can't be on Game Pass until 2025?The craziest thing about all of this, is how invested the gaming community has been in it from start to finish, while the average gamer is going to scroll Facebook tomorrow, see lots of headlines saying 'COD free on Game Pass' and go "cool, COD is free on Game Pass' and move on.
Jimbo didnt have no fight.
Gamers are a fickle bunch. Xbox fans were cursing his name weeks ago, now back to bowing down. I've always disliked him.
Because the gaming community has seen what MS has done to their favorite IPs over the years and are well aware of their "buy out the competition" practices and how that can negatively affect the industry. The craziest thing about all of this, is how invested the gaming community has been in it from start to finish, while the average gamer is going to scroll Facebook tomorrow, see lots of headlines saying 'COD free on Game Pass' and go "cool, COD is free on Game Pass' and move on.

Whereas the "Average gamer" could give a shit as long as they can get their
quick dopamine fix from the latest/hottest F2P mobile game.
Then they have been misrepresenting things pretty badly.By the way, I now think the deal 100% closes on monday. That CMA meeting might not be what we think it is (or what theyve billed it as).
lol, gonna be real entertaining watching the meltdowns as the deal is finalizedI see the Phillatio will continue in full force. If you guys are impressed by someone spending $70 billion of not their money, you should start looking at the government for some real heroes.
