I mean, I feel like you already have your answer. Majority of the shareholders want the cash. The market is never a given and they have an opportunity to cash out. This is all facilitated through the sale.Most shareholders DO NOT want to liquidate. It triggers capital gains and they lose individual optionality on each shareholder for when they desire to sell
They only want to liquidate if there's a large premium to current market value
