Sorry man, it's just my opinion, the Forza car literally looks like plastic to me.

And this goes beyond the appearance itself, as the comment section rightly pointed out, there are some additional aspects, like the display in GT7 is in "track" mode instead of "driver" mode (appropriate to the occasion), or that there is a HUD that is not present in FM. As more and more of these comparisons emerge, more and more of these kind of details will become obvious.

Talking about headlights or reflectivity of the paint over and over again is just the right amount of nerdiness, but stuff like the above is what brings out the real perverts, it's scary to think what will happen here when we reach THAT level. :messenger_winking:

Are you watching on your phone or something?

I can't understand how anyone could sat GT looks more realistic here.

Agreed. GT looks a lot more.. saturated? I think that's the word. However Forza looks less impressive than I had hoped for. I was prepared to be blown away, but that's not the case. I feel like the obsession to hit 4k60 may have hurt them.

To be fair, the two RT effects add a lot to the visual makeup, especially RTAO and that version doesn't sacrifice extra for 4K. It's a very respectable 1512~p with a rocksolid 60 FPS.

It's obvious when you start showing apples to apples comparisons, that Forza looks better time and again.

It also makes me wonder why you were seeing time trial GT shots going up against in-game race shots of Forza from certain folks...

I'll say it again, for all the pomp about RT reflections, the RTAO ended up becoming the more beneficial visual effect.

Good on them for not having it only in the Quality mode, but also getting it in the Perf. RT mode as well.

Since this is a vs. thread I'll post some of my GT7 shots. No photomode. All gameplay. How anyone can say lighting isn't better in GT I really don't know. But whatever.

I do not think GT7 look saturated. More like Forza has issue with color or they are using more yellowish light which is messing with the color. If you look at the sky color, reds, blacks etc it is obvious.

This is real pic.

Compare this with the above screenshot grabs. The 3rd pic for example. The rear diffuser in Forza does not even look black as it should.

Image #2 - I prefer the one on the left.

Of all the other images, I prefer the one on the right.
Usually most cars in GT7 have the cockpit way too dark to what it should be during the day light, and i think is the lack of ray tracing making it that way, cuz when u look the cars interiors in the showroom, it uses ray tracing and the interiors are perfectly iluminated.
While forza is not a bad looking game, i still think polyphony did a better job in general presentation, with better colors, lighting, and most important the way they render the materials. Metalic paint looks metalic in GT7, and in some cars, look more plastic in Forza.
In other visual asspects some things look better in one game, other look better in the other.

I think Forza fans should be worried about game progression issues and not the visuals, cuz the visual is the last thing i see being critized about the game.

Arguing over these screenshots, when this exists:

Witnessing the glare from the headlights of cars behind you actually blinding you for a moment is what visual splendour is all about.

The new video shows a much more muted difference between the two games than other comparisons ive seen. i guess John's video will be the defining one that will set this thread on fire.

After watching the new photage my opinion hasn't changed much. They both look really good. I did a little blind experiment using my 9 year old daughter and my 28 year old sister, I asked them which side was the real car racing and which was a game. They both pointed to the Forza side, which I believe is because of the less saturated colors which lends itself to a slightly more "real" look. We all agreed though that GT7 was prettier.

Edit: i had no doubt that demigod demigod would be here to drop the lol emoji. Not every discussion between two games has to be warbait. They both look awesome, there are differences that really boil down to personal preference. It will be ok.

Forza definitely has issues with colour, reds look washed out on cars and my black civic looks dark green..strange

If Forza can fix its AF issue it would easily be a much better looking game.

But right now I'd say forza looks better but not by much. Just because the tracks are not as flat and empty and lighting is better .. RT makes a difference for sure.

But with the AF issue they seem to have problems in the same areas for different reasons.

Like the grass directly on the side of the track. GT looks like a flat solid colored rug. forza looks more diverse but a blurry mush just a few feet away.

GT still has the issue with cars looking like they were superimposed on the track where as Forza cars still look a little too much like plastic toys.

GT's AA is definitely cleaner looking as Forzas AF issue highlights the temporal AA solution used in a bad way.

More like he will be using photomode 50% of the time to compare them where one game is heavily enhanced in that mode like last time. Guess which game lol.

I am talking about the new comparison video in the OP. its a video comparison so not photomode.
OP Updated with relevant and accurate video. First video posted was not axccurate due to bug in settings

You misunderstood me, i was talking about John lol.

Alex's video shows how the AF is literally free on PC. Maybe 1% performance loss. Maybe 0.5% going from 2x-16x. Why do we continue to see such poor AF implementation on both consoles time and time again? is it a vram thing? because if its not the gpu performance savings then what is it?

Do we know the AF being used in GT7?

To me the Forza footage looks quite realistic, but it also almost looks like off screen capture, where colours get muted. It's overall kind of a tossup, with cars being more detailed on GT7, and trees being more detailed in Forza.

Didnt watch the original video

But Forza looks better in the updated video

But both are so close, that "better" can just come to preference

I prefer the lighting in Forza, looks better imo

RT during races gives Forza a massive edge, especially at night / rain times. There's no reflections in GT and everything looks much flatter by comparison.

The video game journalism is already starting to make farces and deceptions, but many of us already know it.

The good thing about social networks is that they show us reality.
