Xbox players are greeted with a full-screen pop-up ad for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III when they boot up their Xbox console

That's complete garbage. Fuck that.

I was just coming around to dealing with this shitty UI change they did for the system. Ads like this are completely out of line. I don't care if you do that shit to casual gamers that don't know up from down, but there must be an opt out or I will be pissed. Same shit on my fucking Vizio TV now too.

The default option is buy now? So a fucking toddler can turn your console on and just hit A 3x and blow $100.

Why stop at this? Put ads during loading screens, during respawn times, during the credits, during the lobby area, during the matchmaking process, during the pause menu...woop the shit out, go full force with that. Theres aways few dumbos saying they don't care anyway.

They are sticking ads in like you only got the free version of your Xbox series OS. When's the pay for premium OS to remove ads go live? Hahaha

Excellent. Can we have some Coca-Cola ads as well? Christmas is coming.
Maybe to get some free month of Game Pass after seeing 500 of them

I'm reading that it doesn't pop for people in stand-by mode. Apparently, there were ones for the June Showcase, Starfield and Forza. I feel like I'm missing out. Sad.

Thanks for letting me know to stop giving this company any more money or attention.

This shit is fucking gross.

My opinion is that in a free market, if you're putting up with this, than you're actively choosing it and deserving of it, and on that path it will only get worse.

Microsoft and the people engaging in this lose my respect.

They just did.
I meant that it's good to see they are. I'll put should in bold for it to make more sense.

Damn. I hate to lose respect. Is turning on my Xbox and closing it considered "engagement?"

You have cracked life. I guess if the mailman wants to fuck the spouse and has the decency of knocking on the door and asking, we should just say "No thanks".
Some people would call that an opportunity. If their spouse shacks up with the mailman they are off the hook on alimony. Freedom and keeping you money = 4 the gamers.

This whole company with their Free* on GamePass is gross.

I've never seen any company in videogames gaslight so crass as much as Microsoft.

During podcast
"Starfield wont cause Playstation players to sell their playstation"

During trial
"Ahh emails? Huh? Ohh! Thats just a Thought-Experiment"

If we all play everyone wins! ^_^.

🤢

I actually don't care if this is the default. When half of all GP subs haven't even tried Starfield, I genuinely believe discoverability is one of their biggest problems. Advertise to the morons that don't even know what release dates are.

But for fucks sake, bury an opt out in the options menu or I will be fucking pissed. This is completely ridiculous that your system defaults to "spend money" on one button press. That should literally be illegal. Not even safe to leave the console around kids without password blocking everything.

Xbox has always had ads. I remember getting ads on launch day on xbox one. I was like wtf is this.

This is a new low though and the future. Get used to it. Someone has to pay for the $70 billion purchase and it wont be satya nadella or phil spencer.

Give him some time to look through the script.
Lord... you guys are the worst with this Xbox pays their fans thing. I was joking/trolling with the "awesome" comment. I really don't see the splash as a big deal, and I probably won't even see it as I use the stand-by mode.

Wow, a screen you see for a few seconds, let's freak out again! When such an ad pops up while playing a game, sure, storm MS headquarters, but this is nothing. God forbid MS wants to advertise their games.

Disappointed by lack of in-game ad-rolls..!

Sell me Mountain Dew and Doritos in between sessions, you cowards!
