Big if true ....Spider-Man 2 30% bigger than Spider-Man 2.
xbox has bad numbers globally , phil spencer needs to travel , like to a lot of regions/countries to promote the xbox brand
Nobody gives a fuck about Phil Spencer except people on ResetEra
No, it's time to buy EA and Nintendo. So MS will give up console market or not?
And people on here, he must be the most talked about figure in videogames on Neogaf. Not beloved, but endlessly talked about.
PS5: 320K
Switch: 110k

They were all fairly close last year but 50k? It's getting stomped! Imagine if they didn't have two different consoles. From InstallBase
Europe October 2022:
"367,821 games consoles were sold across European markets last month, a drop of 33% over the same period the year before. This data does not include Germany or UK figures, for UK data click here.
In a rare twist, PS5 was the best-selling console of the month, just ahead of Nintendo Switch. Switch suffered a steep drop over October 2021, due to the fact that the Switch OLED model launched during this period last year.
It's the first time since September 2021 that Nintendo Switch was not the No.1 console across Europe.
The Xbox Series family of consoles is the only platform to post a year-on-year increase in October, with sales up over 26%."

October 2023
"Over in console hardware, PS5 is comfortably the No.1 console in Europe (across tracked markets, UK and Germany not included). PS5 sales are up 143% over October last year, driven by the availability of stock this time around. Nintendo Switch is at No.2 despite a 20% drop in sales compared with last October, while Xbox Series S and X sales continue to struggle in Europe, down 52% year-on-year.
In total, 481,000 consoles were sold across the tracked markets in October."

This is not even funny at this point...how is it possible that a console that's on sale for 300€ in an entire continent, with 2 big AAA releases recently can't even sell 50k units? (here in Portugal there's deals at 200€ for Series S right now lmao)PS5: 320K
Switch: 110k

It would be bad for their people if it's weaker than the PS6.
Releasing very few good games, and sitting on the rest of their IP's.These numbers are...something.
MS...what are u doing?

Ask Phillip IIIHow bout itgokurho ?
Europe seems to hate Xbox. Time to bring them some freedom!
This is crazy & Xbox still isn't putting up a fight for the holidays I'm not even sure what's going on with them at this point. They are giving up on selling the current Xbox Series consoles
Now you're actually catching up to the conversation from over a year ago, and I'll give you credit that you're actually the only person in the thread that seems to actually be concerned about a potential monopoly and lack of competition. This is not even funny at this point...how is it possible that a console that's on sale for 300€ in an entire continent, with 2 big AAA releases recently can't even sell 50k units? crazy that the 6 year old switch is in a gentle decline, while the 3-year-old xbox is crashing and burning
Ms might as well start getting ready for the next xbox launch and try to take a year or 2 advantage over the ps6 and better have better justification for its existance than the xsx and xss have

So now, how do you fix the unusually sticky hyper market consolidation if traditional competition metrics no longer work? Price cuts and cheaper system doesn't work. PS raises the price and sales go up. Cheaper games day 1 on GP doesn't work. PS raises the price of games and sales go up. What would you do to save the gaming industry from being locked to the PSN digital storefront almost exclusively? I propose (over a year ago) that you allow the Activision merger. PS will always have Call of Duty, but now MS has secured enough revenue that they will be profitable without question and they aren't going anywhere. They can keep experimenting to see if anything works and the console industry will still have competition.
We were that close to the edge of the cliff, but the gaming industry was saved with the Activision / MS buyout. Jim Ryan nearly had us all.

They’ve grown too large on the software side to keep up the exclusive game with console splits like this. No longer makes financial sense to chase 100% of sales revenue on 10-20% of market compared to 70-80%from other 80-90% of market.
Wrong I'm rational and I knew it would happen but didn't want to get banned for making a thread to tell everyone what was about to happenThese numbers seem unreal. How can Xbox have that type of decline, after releasing Starfield and Forza. No way in hell, any rational person would've thought that possible.
Phil Spender: “This is why we should be allowed to buy EA and Ubisoft.”
Something that the green team doesn't seem to understand, to sell a console you need ton consistently make great games. How is that so hard to understand for some of you is a mistery (unless heavily biased of course).Being cheap and everything you listed is like saying I can play some games of my nephews Vtech why isn't it seeling better than a gaming PC?Now you're actually catching up to the conversation from over a year ago, and I'll give you credit that you're actually the only person in the thread that seems to actually be concerned about a potential monopoly and lack of competition.

I mean...Sony will start the year with TLOU2 Remaster in January, Helldivers 2 and FFVII Rebirth in February, Death Stranding 2, Rise of the Ronin, Silent Hill 2 and Stellar Blade are also quite possibly 2024 titles. God of War DLC is supposedly going to be announced next month as well. There's the typical yearly MLB game as well. This is not counting with possible announcements we don't know about. Good luck to MS i guess.Xbox is at 389€, PS5 at 429€.
2024 better deliver, Phil Spencer said earlier this year he could see the roadmap and they would be consistently launching games, but right now all we know for 24 is Hellblade 2 I think? And that went from 23 to early 24 to late 24?
Insane if 23 isn’t rock bottom for the Series.
We had black friday last week and the ps5 standard was selling for 430 euros. Usually it costs 550. But all bundles had similar discounts including spidey.
I've finally got one for xmas. November numbers will be huge if this was in all Europe.
I'm in portugal by the way...
Not forgetting Silent Hill 2, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and that game where you get to play as a butt*.This is not counting with possible announcements we don't know about.

listening to the Xbox 2 podcast......yep. the fear is real.
On one hand, the Xbox division is making more money than ever, while on the other hand, the Xbox console is performing worse than ever.
so, you have these people confused at the Xbox situation; they don't know if Xbox is falling or flying.
the issue is: That company has two incompatible/opposite ideologies:
MS: put that shit everywhere.
Xbox: but we need exclusives to sell consoles.
but consoles are not selling. And now we know that GP's growth is not really a metric MS finds useful...aka is not performing as they expected.
MS and Xbox will need to make a decision.
Going full in on consoles to try to gain market share or just drop out of the console race and go full Third Party and try to build a storefront elsewhere.
