Game Industry Condemns Insomniac Hack and Shows Support for Spider-Man Devs
The video game industry rushes to Insomniac Games' defense after the leak of its Marvel game slate and more.

they deserve to be hacked because you aren’t a fan of Marvel games?![]()
I know the way they're going with the IPs they're developing. No sympathy from me.
Game industry "writ large", mind you.Who is this "Game industry" and why should i care about him?
Did you just assume the gender?Who is this "Game industry" and why should i care about him?
OMG. They finally leaked footage of a game being in dev for 3 years, sales figures of PS4 first party games and a release roadmap. WOW, what an injustice.
Get the fuck outta here. This is something the movie industry does at fucking comic con. They show what they are going to release the next half a decade or more. They release box office numbers because they are not ashamed to admit their failures or hide their successes like Sony did with Days Gone and DriveClub because they know they will catch flack from fans of those franchises.
And they release teasers, trailers, behind the scenes footage, and even hilariously bad Entertainment Weekly screenshot to keep their fanbase engaged. Because movies are supposed to be fun, and not a fucking state secret. 2.5 years after wolverine's reveal and not a single screenshot was shown to the fans?
Yeah, no sympathy for insomniac or sony here. its not like the source code was put out there. thats actual theft.
Absurdly top secret game gets a leak and the industry virtue signals like the CEO of the companies wife just died or something. Like clockwork. Every time. You’d swear there was no bigger injustice in this world.OMG. They finally leaked footage of a game being in dev for 3 years, sales figures of PS4 first party games and a release roadmap. And the personal information of employees?OMG. They finally leaked footage of a game being in dev for 3 years, sales figures of PS4 first party games and a release roadmap. WOW, what an injustice.
A shit ton of personal data though. You can count on identity theft resulting from this.
yeah, i forgot about that. That I can understand being upset about, but the rest? eh.And the personal information of employees?
No one in the industry showed support for MS when they accidentally posted their own unredacted documents. Sure it was an accident but the pain hurts just the same .... Some wounds dont show bruises.
Cringy? There are business strategies at play, big-time money involving millions of dollars. What are you on about?I'm not sympathetic for companies secrets getting leaked. That secrecy is cringe anyway.
I am however sympathetic to personal information getting leaked. That shit is just fucked and inexcusable.
Did you just assume the gender?
Yes, not to mention that it was an MS employee themselves who leaked all that stuff, God knows accidentally or not. Insomniac got hacked and that Rhysidia group demanded 50 BTC in ransom. It’s such a different scenario though. Insomniac were robbed.
Source? If true I demand retaliation.Yes, not to mention that it was an MS employee themselves who leaked all that

WTF ?? Source, please?Yes, not to mention that it was an MS employee themselves who leaked all that stuff, God knows accidentally or not. Insomniac got hacked and that Rhysidia group demanded 50 BTC in ransom.
I mean there’s a pretty big difference between a company screwing up & doing it themselves vs. a ransomware attack which is a crimeNo one in the industry showed support for MS when they accidentally posted their own unredacted documents. Sure it was an accident but the pain hurts just the same .... Some wounds dont show bruises.
I might be alone in this, nut I think that kind privacy is overated, but I'm more inclined to say I lack perspective on the matter.A shit ton of personal data though. You can count on identity theft resulting from this.

Feel free to paste your passport scan here. I promise you nothing overrated will happen.I might be alone in this, nut I think that kind privacy is overated, but I'm more inclined to say I lack perspective on the matter.
what are you talking about? the press have been reporting on the minutae of the leaks this entire time, that’s why game devs are upset because these same outlets try to grandstand like they support the devs (with articles pushing for unionization and other things)Access journos terrified of losing their access, sounds about right.
Gamers: I need to see a trailer for this game coming out in the distant future.yeah, i forgot about that. That I can understand being upset about, but the rest? eh.
The industry guards its secrets too much. If they had released all this information publicly, they would have nothing to pay ransom for. the only thing worth protecting wouldve been the personal data of employees but thats a federal crime and they can go to the authorities with it.
Here ya go. This was everywhere back then.WTF ?? Source, please?
There was a lot of raw gameplay in those vertical slices. More than in any Xbox trailer.Gamers: I need to see a trailer for this game coming out in the distant future.
Also gamers: why did they reveal this game so early when it's not coming out for years.

Every industry does this tho. Hollyweird is even worse.Absurdly top secret game gets a leak and the industry virtue signals like the CEO of the companies wife just died or something. Like clockwork. Every time. You’d swear there was no bigger injustice in this world.
Game industry are hilariously, laughably, a bunch of softies
The work didn’t disappear and that Wolverine game will sell. Not a good thing to say buddy. Think of all the hard work these folks have poured into their jobs.
#StopTheViolence'Game Industry' should be treating all leaks equally.

again there’s a difference between a leak and a ransomware attack… I’m not sure why this is so hard to understand for some people'Game Industry' should be treating all leaks equally.
