[Insider Gaming] Insomniac "Gearing Up" To Show More From Wolverine, It's Claimed

Seems so. Whats worse they seem to hide all that stuff from trailers/previews/gameplay videos just like they did with Spider-man 2. They arent unaware of the issues ppl have with SBI yet they do it secretly. That being said, after all the bad stuff with Concord and SBI coming to light, perhaps theres hope that they scrapped anything SBI told them to add/change. Will see.

I'm not buying this game at launch, that much is certain. If I do play it then I'll buy it used and then resell it when I'm done, but only if they tone down the bullshit.

Expect it to still be a great game and sell a fuck-ton of copies, as usual by this company
This is not before 2023. Gamers have had enough of forced DEI in their games. Once word of mouth spreads about Sweet Baby Inc.'s involvement with Wolverine, all hell will break loose. Wolverine will be lucky to sell enough copies to break even. It's on the path to becoming a financial disappointment, owing to the game's development and licensing costs, and will likely see Insomniac Games brought to its knees.

I'm no buying from this company, I don't stand Disney writing or left activism and pandering in media.

It will sell a lot though.

I'm sure it'll be fine. The perfect disposable rental that you can beat in a couple days and forget it ever existed. I'm not expecting it to be a trainwreck, but I'm not expecting it to leave any kind of lasting impression either. It'll be a mainstream action beat-em-up that'll probably show really well at the Game Awards, surrounded by Hollywood actors on stage and in the audience. The trailer will look like the next big Marvel movie.

What I think people underestimate is what that final layer of visual polish will do to the footage we saw. 90% of what people like about these types of games is that final layer of polish, and a lot of people will fall in line and buy it. Mechanically it will likely not be that different from what we saw, but none of these games are mechanically all that deep. Casual, competent action blockbusters.

With SBI being involved due to Sony and Insomniacs obsession to work with them, I am sure this game will be similar to Spiderman 2. Woke virtue signaling, gay side missions, Logan becomes a soyboy taking orders from Jean while she berates him for being so toxic. Most likely will have girl bosses who kick ass and Logan will need Jean to save his hide. What a treat for those anxiously awaiting this game.

Happy to see more as I liked what I've seen so far and have loved most things Insomniac has done the past few generations.

I thought they’d do something like an action/stealth game similar to Arkham Asylum, but it seems we’re getting yet another open world.
From the leaks it looked like reskinned Spider-Man with different traversal and combat.

Insomniac is still one of my favourite studios so I will play it no matter what. I just hope they've dialed the DEI back after recent events.
Fat chance.

Associate narrative lead at Insomniac:

Kenney added, “There are so many LGBTQ developers, and we want what players want – to design experiences that tell the player we’re here, we’re important, and we belong.”

In order to obtain this, she declared, “We need to pull every lever we have. Characters, community support, mechanics, to make it so.”

Yep, that’s the way to do it. Will grab it on eBay or whatnot if gameplay is good and dump it afterwards. Just like Spider-Man 2.

This game will flop for the budget it's getting.

Wolverine is no nearly as big or popular as Spider-Man, and after that alpha leaks, it's noticeable that the gameplay is not as interesting as SM games. Add that to the woke bullshit that will be added to the game and you have the recipe for this to go down as the worst selling Marvel game from Insomniac.

Spider-Man 2 had some success and credit partially thanks to the first Spider-Man game. I don't know of this one will have that after SM2...
Wolverine may not be as popular, but he's still one of the most popular marvel characters. At least top 5 in popularity.

That sound exactly like what gamers want alright.

Imagine giving more than 50 dollars budget to these deluded morons.

Yeah, Insomniac has earned a lot of good will in the years that passed. It'll take more than a shitty Mary Jane 3d model and a cucked Peter Parker to ruin them. Spider-Man 3 focused on Miles will be a good first step to start burning down that good will.

Not sure why so many people are assuming this will be an open world game. The leaks indicate that it's likely linear or like open-linear like Last of Us or Uncharted.

How is this even possible?

Also, why half the game is about Karen-Grey when the game is called Wolverine? Is he going to get friendzoned from the get go? 😂

I'm excited but I'm not sure about the open-world traversal seen in the leaked gameplay. It doesn't work for Wolverine. Also I don't really like how Wolverine himself looks and sounds.

I'm quite certain this game will be a woke fest. Insomniac is a notoriously left/woke company so the future isn't looking too bright for Wolverine sadly.
Certainly so. What a shame what Insomniac Games has become compared to where they were just a few years ago.

Spider-Man (2018) and Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart, at the time being, will be the last games I will ever purchase developed by this studio. Even though Miles Morales was a great game, I suspect it may have the touch of Kim Blackmail and her company just from the character Phin Mason and her group the Underground.

It is clear they have gone off the deep end into this woke bullshit that anyone with a brain would know is rejected by the majority of gamers. If they cannot and will not accept that the majority of gamers are straight, conservative, and male does not want this forced DEI bullshit into their games - after all, gaming is meant to be entertainment and AWAY from current political drama - then they need to close up shop and just get out of the gaming industry.

With Insomniac I think it's the other way around. They're true believers. They're going to do this anyway just by themselves, but what they are doing is hiring consultants and inflating their budgets that way just to toss allies some contracts at Sony's expense and help grow the DEI effort in gaming.

I believe they've pretty much always been like this but it's only recently they've been blatant about it in their games. Shame really but that's ok- I just don't support it! Not wasting my money on their woke bullshit.

And they (like all of these fake virtue socially blackmailed western companies) remove it for China or Middle Eastern audiences. So virtuous, so stunning, so BRAVE!

That's so fucking sad actually

If the primary focus becomes signaling "we’re here, we’re important," rather than ensuring a cohesive and fun experience, it risks alienating players who are more interested in the quality of the gameplay itself (this is about 99% of gamers).
