New waterpark explodes in sweden

The fire started in a part of the waterpark that was under construction according to the video.
Well the good thing is there was no visitors there that got hurt but what about construction crew?

Footage shows a huge fire engulfing a newly built water park in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Twelve people were sent to hospital for minor injuries, and police say one person is currently missing.
Officers evacuated a hotel and nearby offices, warning residents to stay inside because of the smoke.
The cause is still unknown, but authorities say the fire is being investigated as a "workplace accident".
The water park, which was due to open later this year, was part of an expansion of Liseberg Amusement Park.

Thankfully only minor injuries but that one person is worrying.

Ass friction on an under-watered slide can cause this sort of spontaneous combustion. Happened to my buddy Ryan.

Glad everyone accounted for seems okay. Worried about the missing person.

What were they using for construction that caused such a fire?
Some sort of gas leak.

Propane and/or acetylene along with oxygen are common for any metal work construction. Plus whatever off gassing from any resin or Adhesives being used to patch up the slides.
There'd also be a lot of equipment and fuel.

the explosions in the tubes looks as if it had been filled with gas then subsequently ignited from the initial building explosion/fire.

I bet there were problems with how the construction teams were storing chemicals, like paints, paint thinners, gas, fuel, etc.

Holy crap. I thought the thread title was metaphoric, like the park exploded in popularity. Yeesh. Glad to hear no one was harmed, though.

Interesting design for a water park those slides could essentially fit a group of people

They're going to have to find who's responsible and "build back better"

btw do you have to wear a wetsuit at a Swedish waterpark?
