Wolverine narrative lead leaves Insomniac for CDPR

The game right now should be too complete to make important changes, but let's hope the next person in charge removes all the woke DEI bullshit she will have left in the game.

Sadly, I think it won't happen.

...

Kenney echoes this evidence by saying "There are so many LGBTQ developers, and we want what players want - to design experiences that tell the player we're here, we're important, and we belong." This could become increasingly difficult as we see more and more pitches turned down amid one of the worst years ever for gaming. However, Kenney remains adamant that something has to give way to allow change to happen.

"We need to pull every lever we have," Kenney says. "Characters, community support, mechanics, to make it so." It's a subject she's clearly passionate about, and her insights are thought-provoking.
Must people seek recognition and approval in every crevice of modern culture?

These folks beat out ~200 million other sperm and exist on a floating bit of rock in a perfectly formed solar system in one of a trillion or so galaxies.

But no, it's having their identity affirmed in videogames that will seal the deal.

The hope is that they use her as a reference on what NOT to write.

Who the fuck could play any recent Insomniac game and be like "Yeah, these are the writers we need for our game" ?!?!?
I get the people behind the tech or the gameplay, or the producers pushing out these games at a steady pace, but the writers? Literally the weakest part of Insomniac?

I dunno how wolverine will turn out, but the story and dialog in Spiderman 2 was a dumpster fire. First Insomniac game I rushed through because the game was so cringe. Now this disease is spreading to CDPR.

I remember that Stevenson dude that was always here in posts.....think he was an Insomniac Community person. What happened to him? Did he leave here for the site of purple and rainbows?
Now he likes getting his dick glazed by the reeeetards.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be known for being the only one with a good story.

I had no faith in that US CDPR studio whatsoever, and this only confirms how bad things will be.

The story for the next Witcher is already decided.

Gerald has finally realized what he is and decided to go with the name Geraldine from now on. He also discovers a new side to Dandelion and recognize that there could be more than just a friendship.

This is the cowardly path for CDPR. The money people in the company did not like the pre release controversy whatsoever. Then Cyberpunk nearly flops because of the expectations of console gamers. These probably shook all the risk taking out of their tree. Instead of going the hard route, they just did the thing everyone else is going and decided to make it gay.

Think about it. Do you want to fight the media mob during the pre release marketing of your $500,000,000 project? Along with fighting your own HR department? Or, you can just play along, buy that beach house and slowly bow out of being involved with the making of the games.

They didnt have to fight shit ... a couple of yellow gaming chairs and the broken game received very good reviews ... it exposed again the total bullshit bias of the mainstream press.

The DEI push is just the bubble taking over as usual until it blows in their faces filled with shock at their failed woke product... whenever that happens.

People are freaking out way too much over this. Maybe he left because he doesn't want to go the direction that Insomniac wants to push him in. People have not even seen a single screenshot or heard anything about what the next Cyberpunk or Witcher will be and they are already writing them off.

We see the tweets, their actions, and their history. They are regressive to the core.

"There are so many LGBTQ developers, and we want what players want – to design experiences that tell the player we're here, we're important, and we belong. We need to pull every lever we have. Characters, community support, mechanics, to make it so."

The problem with DEI in a nutshell: prioritization of identity politics over actual merit and ability.

But that's not what players want. Why the fuck would players want games to let them know that lesbians and gays are important? If anything, insisting on letting players KNOW that people designed their games specifically for that purpose will take them out of the experience.

You don't need games to tell you to treat people with respect (which is what I believe the LGBTQ community wants). It's just common sense and human decency.
