Why ps360 era?I don't understand the hype for this. Looks like a 7/10 game, if it released during PS360 era.
It really doesn't. Come on now. That opening sequence looks like a PS3 game running on the Switch
Even if it's 4K

It does, the texture of the rocks, wood and the lighting is offIt really doesn't. Come on now.
Agreed see my post above . But saying its ps3 level textures and geometry running on a switch is hyperbole. It does, the texture of the rocks, wood and the lighting is off
consoles are weak, sacrifices have to be made.It looks fine, not sure why it can't do 60 on consoles.
Well running on a switch may be too much but the texture are PS3 levelAgreed see my post above . But saying its ps3 level textures and geometry running on a switch is hyperbole.
lol i remember that, how on earth did they think tht was good to show?Well running on a switch may be too much but the texture are PS3 level
It looks off like how Halo Infinite was when revealed but in 4k

I think I get where he's coming from. It's not visuals perse, just the 'game-feel'. (Mechanics, systems, game-logic simulation)Why ps360 era?
It's an RPG. It stands and falls based on its story, quests and mechanics. At least the quest here seemed to have several possible outcomes depending on whether you found the expedition, returned or kept the artifact and sided with the Oracle or not.I don't understand the hype for this. Its crazy that Obsidian devs can look at this footage and go: "yeah, not overcrowded with information at all. Ship it"
PoE has always used lots of color.is it just me or does the color scheme of this game just smell like another concord and dustborn situation?
whats up with all these games using purple and green and blue in ways dont make any sense for these types of games.
the new dragon age is one of them too.
that blue guy in the video just looks so wrong. and then that ugly background
I'm a fan of Obsidian and while I totally agree, I can't help but think that the game looks off graphics wise as others have said. I'm not going to judge the gameplay at this point because I can't stand seeing someone play a first person game with a controller, it always looks slow and boring (see Doom Eternal's trailers before release for example) so I reserve judgement. What I can say is the UI is way too cluttered. It would look like an isometric cRPG

and be called PoE III and it would have more chance in the tip of its finger to be more significant to gaming than 95% of the TRIPHUL AYS out there.
The artwork for PoE was super well made

And we now get in 3D basically what we used to have as static backdrops

And ends up looking like this and beyond with PC & ray tracing.

So peoples not understanding why peoples are hyped for Avowed must be trolling at this point or just not even trying to understand where this dev comes from nor the implication of recreating the world of Eora in 3D.
Good news that was the worse element of the presentation .The HUD is customizable and you can disable almost all of the things there if you want.
They probably have everything enabled for floor demo purposes.

Why? I think it's more immersive that way.the decision to create a first person RPG in 2024 is fucking baffling
How come?the decision to create a first person RPG in 2024 is fucking baffling.
The art direction isn't for me and the decision to create a first person RPG in 2024 is fucking baffling. Good to hear Matt Mercer putting in work though.
Good thing you can play through the whole game in third person
Not as baffling as your comment. The art direction isn't for me and the decision to create a first person RPG in 2024 is fucking baffling. Good to hear Matt Mercer putting in work though.
