Synopsis:
Award-winning director Joe Wright creates a boldly original suspense thriller with HANNA, starring Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones, Atonement) in the title role. Raised by her father (Eric Bana of Star Trek), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland, Hanna's upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.

Hanna hits theaters April 8th, 2011.

The trailer was so stupid it turned me off from ever wanting to spend money on this movie.

But it's getting good reviews so I'm unsure now...my friends are deciding whether they want to go see it too...

Loved everything I've seen from Joe Wright so far, except that I really don't want to see The Soloist. Was that good?

If you haven't listened to it the Chemical Brothers Score for this film is AWESOME.

Movie looks awesome, score is awesome. I'm on board.

Movie looks badass.

Cmon, it is Eric Bana training his teenage daughter to go and kill Cate Blanchett. How can that not be cool?

Exactly. And the other bad guy is played by Tom Hollander in full-on pedo caricature.

And I have to say the soundtrack for this film is freaking baller. Daft Punk was more slick, but I found the Chemical Brothers OST a lot grimier and there are some pretty tough tracks in here.

Watching it this weekend. Like the idea of a bunch of a-listers trying their hand at b-movie territory.

Just saw it tonight and was absolutely blown away! Saoirse Ronan is just ridiculously good.. her eyes are absolutely arresting. The action is phenomenal and I found the moments of calm and family interaction to be very well done. This is truly a must-see IMO.. it will be in my top 5 of the year I'm confident. The score from The Chemical Brothers is absolutely spot-on by the way -- perfectly done. I have not yet seen Tron Legacy to see how Daft Punk's work turned out but damn, the Chems set the bar very high here.

I have no clue what happened to the RT score.. fallen quite a bit and I can't understand why.

Is it just an action flick or is it actually intelligent or thrilling?

Doesn't seem like there's a huge amount of interest in this on Gaf based on the lack of responses but I think this movie looks really cool. When I went to watch Sucker Punch, my friend and I were both pretty pumped for it based on the trailer. I think it could be really good. Hoping to see it Saturday night. I thought the trailer music was a fucking awesome mood setter.

The only thing I thought was a little cheesy was the, "I thought I prepared you." "You didn't prepare me for this." line-response. I just thought the girl's delivery of that response was kind of overacty.

Still it looks like an actioner so I don't think a few shitty lines will make me hate it. Plus, a little dose of Cate Blanchett never goes amiss.

Ya got me before my stealth-edit, doh! It's more of a thriller in that the action sequences mostly bookend the drama. Their (the action sequences) direction is absolutely superb.

Very interesting ensemble cast. And wow, had no idea this one even existed if not for Dan Plainview. Might catch it this Monday on my day off

woot! That's my favorite part of doing what I do. Glad you will be able to check out one of the better films this year.

Definitely smarter than 90% of most action flicks.

Daft Punk's score is fantastic on its own, but The Chemical Brothers' is really infused in the film in a fantastic way.

They seem to be pushing it fairly hard. I've seen a trailer played at the last two movies that I went to (Sucker Punch and The Adjustment Bureau.) Seems like their confidence was well-founded based on the reviews so far.

After listening to both I think this soundtrack is much better (imo).

Just saw it.

It's okay. As was said, the action is decent and supplements the plot/thrill.

But the movie didn't end as good as it started, and was kind of a let-down as it fizzled out, in my opinion.

Meh. Interesting, though.

Awesome action flick. It manages a very intelligent and emotional facade throughout. Although it betrays it's high-brow trappings early when a scientists says to another, "OMG, look at this blood sample! It must be wrong!" Pulp, intelligence and emotion get mashed up. If you told me Danny Boyle directed and Alex Garland wrote it I would believe you. It's like if they made a Bourne film.

It's fairly badass. Like a Bourne flick mashed with a teenage coming-of-age flick. And the Chemical Bros. score works much more effectively than Daft Punks. Yet, at the same time, it still is not as good as The Chemical Bros. work on Fight Club. I get the feeling that for Tron and Hanna the music was made first and then abridged to fit the movie. That simply does not work.
Yet, the awesome score from the trailer get a long run and awesome action fight.

I really don't want to hear what the shakey-cam critics will say. Actually, you always know what they will say.

Didn't the Dust Brothers do the soundtrack to Fight Club? I know the Chems used that name back in the day, but I think they changed it.

Shaky cam critics? If I remember correctly (saw it 3 months ago), there was little-to-no shaky cam. Sure, there is some strobing effects and quick cuts (in a few action scenes), but no real shaky cam.

who the fuck is still bothered by shaky cam? seriously? these are the same cry babies who whine about eye strain 10 minutes into a 3D movie. go watch a fucking Sofia Coppola joint.
