Well, Keighley changed his roles years ago. He's an industry promoter with an annual games show, not a writer whose job it is to praise or grill a game or company.
Think of him as the guy who sets up a car show at a convention centre. He and the building makes money getting all the car makers to pay a price to promote their new cars all weekend. His job isnt to criticize their cars or corporation. And whomever pays the most gets the best stage and spotlight in the building.

Man...custom backgrounds, could rip CDs, linux operating system, SD and Memory Stick slots (+1 more, i forget type), 4 USB slots, thumb drive support, external HDD support, plex and network drive support, digital photo, video and music support. A true man's (or other individual) system!
That shit felt like a premium product off the jump, especially with suction (or whatever it's called) disc drive. I spent hours just trying to figure some of that shit out and just uploading my own digital content to the hdd.
To top it off, that shit had a custom CPU that Sony spent millions developing and not some off the shelf shit. Dont get me wrong, im sure some development went into PSSR, but no where near cell.

And for the time it was silent. Had a PS1 CPU as the IO chip or something crazy like that as well for backwards compatibility. And free online. I added up the cost of Xbox Live over a generation to show that Xbox 360 was actually more expensive than PS3.

Every day I get more and more convinced that that PS3/360 era was the peak of gaming. I doubt that we'll see another generation that comes close to the combination of features, upgrades over the predecessors, and game library.
Maybe Nintendo has another trick up their sleeve (or maybe they're peaking right now with the Switch), but it feels like a general downward trend for the other two.

Yeah it's pretty jarring switching on a PS3 with the knowledge it's nearly 20 years old now and yet it seems so much more advanced, it's weird.
It's like we went from the PS3 to some simplified grandparents iPhone shit with PS4 & PS5.
The PS5 Pro though does bring something I haven't heard in a while with the GPU supposedly having stuff not in PC GPUS.

Reminds me of this old Japanese game show I used to watch. Guy competes, and his wife was all "if you lose I'm taking your dirty magazines away!".
