Sony is having one of their most successful gens ever. At this point in each gen only the PS4 had sold more but it also didn't have to deal with covid and was much cheaper (and it already had the Pro released for a about year). Portal was a bigger success than Sony expected. Helldivers 2 was Sony's highest game in terms of revenue in a single year.
Again...MS problems aren't industry issues.

Still an Xbro, as in the Series X is my main console. Awesome hardware. Will probably buy the next device so I don't lose access to my games.
But it's undeniable shifting their brand to services has been disastrous. Xbox hardware is in a complete freefall in all markets. There's no reason to buy Xbox hardware unless you're already invested in the ecosystem like us.

Sony usually sells 120ish million. Nintendo flutates heavily from 15ish mil all the way to 150 million.
Xbox has never hit 100 million, even with the 360.
So where are you getting 300 million from. You're also forgetting a very large percentage of Xbox owners already own a PS5 and/or Switch. They aren't going to buy two when Xbox leaves the industry.

Seems like gaming only has room for 1 competitor to be successful in each area…

PC has always been great, but I like the simplicity of consoles. That’s why I still have one around. I was already super invested in Steam so once Xbox shit the bed the transition was easy.
