Yes!
This and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 and 2 are godsend!
Did they update the movement somehow?Soul Reaver remastered is taking the modern audience treatment.
Then the entire studio was all-hands on deck for The Angel of Darkness once Chronicles released. The development was...troubled.
Watch this video and see what happens when you have a publisher shamelessly milking a franchise, a studio burned out from yearly releases and an ambitions release schedule:
The worst part about that game? You can feel its ambition...everywhere. There's a great game underneath all of its issues that never truly shines. The controls are a mess, you can see plenty of doors that were clearly made for you to open and you can't, parts of entire sets created for you to explore that you never get to, etc...the game even has a way for you to make money and you can earn some of it...but you can only spend it around the first few areas of the game in one fucking store. It's really frustrating.
How so?Soul Reaver remastered is taking the modern audience treatment.
I hope IV-VI will be spared.
same i am jumping into aodDay 0. Can't wait to replay The Last Revelation!!
The Red-headed stepchildren of the series to be sure....buyers beware.A tougher sell than 1-3.
4 had a 100% Egyptian setting, with sprawling levels. I remember needing a walkthrough to complete this one.
5 was very meh - I remember walking zombie babies.
6 had a more modern engine, and just didn’t feel like tomb raider. I remember quite liking the nightclub in Paris, but I also remember something along the lines of pushing a block/statue to be told ‘You feel stronger now’, and all of a sudden being able make a jump or break a door that I couldn’t before. Just random nonsense.
Will still buy day 1 because it’s Tomb Raider, but hey!
they did yesAnyone know if they patched in the pin up posters they removed for the trilogy?
i will double dip already have them on xbox bc but getting all 12 on ps5 would kick assI wouldn't be surprised if it would be next and planned for 2026
I remember back then i was super excited for AoD. The game got delayed and i was desperate.same i am jumping into aod
I love your positivity, but I doubt Modern Sony is leaving anything in those games that would require that kind of message.you just know the gow remaster will have something like this. quote me.
My problem with Chronicles is that i just like half of the levels, Rome and Russian Sub.I feel like I’m the only person who defends Chronicles. Never thought this collection would happen so I’m in day one.
And I’ve never understood why people love Last Revelation. I always found it so insanely boring. I’m going to have to try it yet again when this comes out after seeing all the love in this thread.
Hopefully they learned their lesson from this

Do you remember the second half of the game being incredible moody/dark or was that just me? My kid mind could not comprehend a mainstream game being this eerie.I finished AOD twice when I was a 13 yo lad on my PS2 and then once again when I finished the entire classic saga about 7 years ago. I would have never expected I would eversuffer through itplay it once again but here we go, lol. I really hope they honor Lara's "time to put things right" quote from the trailer. There's a lot to fix.
Chronicles was okay. Last Revelation is an incredible game, I even put it above TR3, and the remaster looks awesome so far.

While Last Revelation has more good ones, Egypt is just cooler. A younger myself was thrilled with all that stuff about Seth / Horus / Semerkhet.
I'm surprised how many they made on the PS1 aloneSometimes I forget just how many of these they made before the reboot.
I mean, yeah, a bit, like that Sanitarium level with Kurtis, or being hunted by the wolf mutant thing ("proto-nephilim", was it?) or the castle at the end. Then again Tomb Raider has often toyed with survival horror elements and atmosphere.Do you remember the second half of the game being incredible moody/dark or was that just me? My kid mind could not comprehend a mainstream game being this eerie.

Experience Lara’s Darkest Adventures: Uncover the secrets of Lara Croft’s past and shed light on the mystery of her disappearance
Finally. Been looking to replay TR4. I personally think it's the best one in the whole series.
They tend to redo the graphics so this doesn't matter. If they do a seventh gen trilogy next I hope they make smart decisions. It would likely be Legend, Anniversary and Underworld but the question is which versions do they go for? Some prefer the PS2-style visuals while others prefer the 360 'next-gen' versions. Legends is already available as a PS2 classic on PS5 right now, so I guess the logical option is basing it on the 360 version. Anniversary's best version is supposedly the DLC version released for Legend. I remember Underworld also had some fantastic per-object motion blur as well as exclusive DLC on the 360.
I remember thinking Angel of Darkness was the worst in the series by a country mile. Its platforming was awful compared to everything that came before it.
Best in the series and an absolute masterpiece.Time to again finish TR4 like 10 times
