How to Transfer Data from PS5 to PS5 Pro

Most importantly, for folks who have M.2 SSD, you can directly plug and play on your PS5 Pro, no need to format SSD or erase data at all.

If you're looking to buy a PS5 Pro but will need to get rid of your current base PS5 in order to fund the purchase, there is still a way of performing a Data Transfer, but you'll need to perform some steps before getting rid of the base PS5. You must buy an SSD and transfer your PS5 games to it, then remove the SSD from the system and insert it into the PS5 Pro when you get it. You can then transfer them onto the PS5 Pro's internal SSD and have access to all those games again, and the SSD won't need formatting. It'll work straight away on PS5 Pro.

You can. Or you can back up PS4 saves anywhere. PS5 saves need to be backed up using the backup function or cloud

This. Not on Fiber but 1G download so I'm good to go. I really need to remember to get my sons save for minecraft dungeons though. He already had to restart once when I forgot to do it before.

Technically, you don't need to move them back to the internal SSD to play them as that's why there's an expansion bay in the first place.

Probably just have to uninstall the games? Unless there's a checklist of stuff you can op in and out of for what to transfer.

Just backup what you need to a drive. The nvme will be a hot swap

Yeah I moved stuff from my PS4 Pro to PS5 via ethernet and I expect the PS5 to PS5 Pro will be the same.

We had a fiber company come in and they were great at first but then I had an issue and they left my hanging during my scheduled appointment and then scheduled me for like 4 days later. I was going to be down for over a week just waiting for a tech. Xfinity comes to my house within a 2 days. I just don't think the company has enough techs in the area.

I would rather just go without. 1.2TB I could do with the amount of games I installed and uninstall. COD alone within a month of patching would eat that alive, nevermind the amount of streaming everything is doing.

It highly depends on where you live in the US. Where I am, I have 2gb no cap from Xfinity, and the uptime is *chef's kiss*. Others under the same company could have a very different experience.

A lot of the time, you'll only have one decent option, perhaps two. And gods forbid if you live outside the city!

That's what I use. Plex is great. I just buy physical and rip it all for Plex, or TV shows. No data usage and its quality I pick.
