Been drink some over the holiday weekend, and I find it hard to game when really drunk. What is your limit for gaming while intoxicated?

This. After like 3 beers I enter a zone where I play super loose and my movement is crisp and I never drop a combo.

Obviously after like 5 or 6 this all goes out the window.

I don't drink while playing videogames unless I'm playing with friends, but at most I'll have a few beers and that's no problem.

I do like doing a little bit of weed tho.

Back in the days when I drank a lot. Absolutely. These days? No idea since I rarely drink. I should start drinking more. Maybe that can be a new year resolution for 2025.

Had no issue gaming, both pve and pvp, while drunk back when I used to drink. But it's been nearly 20 years since I gave up drinking so I'd probably be terrible if I was anything more than slightly buzzed.

EDIT: never finished it sober afterwards. My brain doesn't remember Crysis full story.

I am 39 years old and I was never drunk. Maybe in the future, but I have tried to get drunk a few times, because I figured I'd enjoy the party more, but no.. the alcohol goes right through. It doesn't even tickle..

I could have maybe 2 beers and it'll actually relax me so I play better in a controlled environment. Maybe a little more if they're spread out. But if I come home drunk after a night out I'll feel sick. I used to try it on cod back on ps3 and it wasn't good.

Funniest experience playing with drunks was in WoW, we had a couple of Fins in the guild and they always got hammered on Fridays. During an AQ40 raid one of the Finnish Warlocks was so drunk he got lost in the zone and raid leader told me to go and fetch him. The ventrilo bantz was *hilarious*, I told him to /follow me and took him to C'thun, then we one-shot the last boss.

Warzone is pretty funny to play buzzed. I drank a bit too much whiskey when I played RDR2, but what don't you do for more immersion, at least I didn't start smoking cigars. Nowadays I drink much more seldom as I prefer feeling well-rested, but I most often game when I've taken a few glasses of wine.

Yes, this is about programming. But I maintain, it makes sense with gaming as well.

Now as for getting high... it works, sometimes wonderfully, but there's an element of paranoia. Like, I'm a fan of horror movies. But to play horror games after having smoked too much, nah, it's better to remain just slightly toasted. Ever so slightly toasted.

I wouldn't even touch the Marvel VS Capcom cabinet until I was 8 beers in. Would stay on for hours beating up the local college kids, while my GF would hold on to my lit smoke between rounds. Man, I miss the 90s.

I've done surprisingly well on world of tanks while surprisingly drunk on more than a few occasions. But you don't need ninja reflexes for that game though.

Drinking a drink or three (no more though) makes strategy games fun. For some reason I actually do better at stuff like EU4 or Stellaris with a little cocktail !
