So, Intergalactic actress has personally responded to the controversy...

This is all going exactly by the book so far.

Everything from them sticking their heads in the sand (turning off comments) to now being hostile towards the very people who are supposed to be their customers.

ND, Druckmann and the actress working OT.

Game was shown just a week and a half ago. And each one already pushing this game.

Relax. If gamers making fun isnt an issue then no need to promote the game heading into Xmas. Game wont be released for probably a couple more years. Focus on the tweets and Instagram posts later.

Wasn't really interested in the first place but it's amazing just how much this image triggers people like her.

Just not buying wokeshit makes them sperg out and have to delete the history.

Who fucking cares if it's a chick. If the gameplay is good seriously who wastes their energy to hate on a game with a chick protagonist

Gamers are some of the whiniest people on the planet. Whining about a game trailer that showed no gameplay and a cinematic with a woman who has a shaved head.

At least wait till they show more than a promotional trailer for the game to begin stomping your feet like children.

She didn't do that. She decided to add to the fire. That was terrible PR.
I agree it was bad PR but people were attacking her personally. I assume she got tired of it. Humans tend to make mistakes/overreact when they feel personally attacked and I am sure many here would react in a similar way.

The only tears being shed will be ND interns being thrown into the cold when the game inevitably fails to hit sales targets.

Whatever the situation, you never go out of your way to antagonise your audience.

They're all so very, very sure, and so very, very arrogant about people buying their game…

Gamers were attacking her how? I see people mocking and complaining about a video game that contains a virtual character that vaguely looks like her ...more uglier and more manly

This is not remotely a concord. Dont assume the audience reaction is the same. Plenty of us can see shades of grey. If you can't and trigger at the site of a woman you need to have a long hard think about how far down the other rabbit hole you have gone.

This has nothing to do with my personal preferences. I'm speaking from a marketing, publicity and business perspective.

People have the right to criticize and give judgement on what they saw lol. Its like telling people they are wrong to criticize a movie teaser, which would sound incredibly stupid.
This low effort argument is way too much used. Screams like a gaming journalist trying to look smart, specially the gamer remark part

I think most people here know that when you become a public figure you keep your opinions private or anonymous. Never put your bag on the line for mean internet comments.

People are having a temper tantrum hissy fit about a game character in a cinematic because she has a shaved head. It's really dumb and childish. I am all out of tissues for this outrage gaming culture that has been cultivated by social media grifters.

That's one of the perks of using a person for the model. If people criticize it, then you can say they're attacking a human instead of a game character. Then said model can gaslight the people criticizing her lame wokey-tropey game character and they can say it's not the devs, it's just a model defending herself.

Like if I got myself inserted in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition with my balls hanging out the side of a speedo and then the customers complained, then I gaslight them and call them "incels" and bigots.

I already hear the crying when this brave game is selling lile garbage. Neil Wokemann is on the same level than this. I hope they dont expect to sell the game to people they are insulting 🤣🤣
