Tesla sales tank in Europe as stock drops 40% in a month

Honestly, I despair at the retardation of people thinking Tesla failing is going to hurt Elon Musk. For one, he's still going to be insanely rich and influential either way, so ultimately its irrelevant.

But mainly its because of the utter disregard for everyone else who's livelihood is in some way attached to the success of that business that are going to suffer as a consequence of "pwning the nazi."

How have people's brains got so warped by a narcissistic need to demonstrate their self-proclaimed virtuousness that it eliminates all other forms of moral calculus in their positions?

If it's criminal violence against civilians committed in the pursuit of a political goal, then probably.

Terrorism definitions

International terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups who are inspired by, or associated with, designated foreign terrorist organizations or nations (state-sponsored)

Domestic terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature
One problem is that a lot of people in this thread literally believe what CNN says

However it seems enough is enough

The Democrats dramatically overplayed their hand here, now they are associated with domestic terrorism and rightfully so. They are openly engaging in terrorist activities like shooting at dealerships, burning charger stations and privately owned cars, and threatening owners. This is the literal definition of terrorism

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
I live in California, a state absolutely filled to the rim with both liberals and Teslas.

Watching Tesla owners collectively struggle with some sort of existential crisis over their car has been quite interesting to say the least.
I keep seeing bumper stickers that say stuff like “I bought this before I realized he’s a douche” 😂

When you make up data to get them outraged and make them believe you're doing something about it, of course the majority of people are going to like it.
Whatever you think of accusations that Musk made mistakes in interpreting spending that he later doubled down on, I think it's also a mistake to only focus on that. Government waste has been a thing since forever, and it's only gotten worse and worse. This is hardly all "made up data," when it comes to programs that are being found and canceled. A lot of the examples we've been given would never have been supported by the majority of Americans, so why did our tax dollars go to those things in the first place? When people hear about these things, of course they're going to be happy to see those programs canceled.

I love how Elon laughs about this in the latest interview.

You gotta give it to him... He doesn't care. Just like when he told Bob to fuck off when Disney pulled the advertising from X.

Well, he certainly cares enough to go running in a panic when the Chinese frown at him, or to turn into Putin’s puppet.

For those who hate that Musk is doing this, who would you suggest would be a good candidate to cut government waste?

Probably anyone else who isn’t directly profiting from ‘cutting waste’.

Prosecuting and convicting domestic terrorists is bad?

Do you even read what you write
Declaring people attacking a car dealership "Domestic Terrorists", given what "Domestic Terrorist" affords, is bad. Destruction of property laws are perfectly sufficient for addressing these crimes. The difference is that they're attacking something that belongs to private citizen Elon Musk - which is why I was curious about Government intervention. Trump has also stated that Tesla boycotts are "illegal", for some reason. So, "Anti-Musk" is now "terrorist". Given how well Americans have reacted so far, I can't imagine this will push Musk's companies towards financial success. If any of this seems "ok" to you, feel free to buy Tesla stocks - I'm sure they'll rebound any minute now...

Have we graduated to your incorrect definition of domestic terrorism yet?

Is there any evidence this actually happened or is he just making this up? If not making it up, was it ACTUALLY about Tesla or was it some punk being a douche OR a total accident? Unless there's some video footage, I don't buy this.

And domestic terrorism has to have a political bent... Like the Oklahoma City bombing, the AME church shooting in Charleston.... A rock thrown in the general vicinity of a child (most likely AT the car but the kid just happened to be there) doesn't rise to that level. Scary as a father, I can sympathize, but domestic terrorism it is not. Or are all those game victory riots domestic terrorism too?

This is some surreal shit. The President of USA shamelessly shilling Tesla products while simultaneously going off about annexing Canada and mocking Biden's age. Things have changed so much but we've all became sort of dull to it. Maybe it was the inevitable indifference hitting in after overexposure to shit on news/social media. Those soft ball questions by the obviously hand picked reporters make it look like something out of a banana republic.

Scoffing at people for watching MSM while blindly swallowing everything you read on Twitter.

eh. People have been cheering on the mass sacking of folks, including veterans.

Hard to pull out the “loss of livelihood” and “think about the families” card now

Musk has successfully made the Tesla brand absolutely toxic for a majority of his customers at the very same time as there are plenty of EV alternatives. Quite the feat. Tesla will hurt even more than what they are currently experiencing.

Do not forget that 1/3 of Tesla profits is from carbon-footprint trade based on their EU sales. Tesla has already sold their 2025 rights in advance based on projected 2025 EU sales based on 2024 sales numbers. There is no chance that they can deliver those CO2 rights now without buying them in the market at a premium. Huge headache incoming.

If Trump can pardon people trying to overthrow the country, I’m sure he can find it in his heart to pardon this.

I do fine it funny how some people immediately lump the Democrats or the left as some sort of hive mind, and immediately try to jump to assign collective blame, but fail to do the same when incidents occur by people on the other side of the political spectrum.

Lol at these takes: "as if Musk cares, if Tesla disappears he absolutely doesn't give a shit, he's got too much money, you can't hurt him"

Fast forward a few hours and he cares so much he's dropped all his work in supposedly making the US government more efficient and convinced the President of the United States to stop working on the couple of wars that he's been weighing in on this week (attempting to broker ceasefires or open a beachfront resort) and the pair have gone on an urgent mission to become car salesmen.

Great stuff though, hopefully Trump will start accepting sponsors for his suits. I'd love to see him with a Marlboro tie, perhaps a Budweiser pin on his lapel, or a Red Bull logo on his back. There's money to be made, he's a businessman so why not?

Yeah, it seems really pronounced now.

It's a good play that has worked really well, find anyone saying something silly who doesn't support the same team as you and then say that what they're saying is what everyone who doesn't support your team is saying. Do that enough times and people just disengage the moment they hear anything that doesn't align with their beliefs.

Lutnick thinks the United States can sell 400,000 "gold cards" at $5 million a piece every year. Because what every high net worth individual wants is the privilege of being the IRS' bitch no matter where they live for the rest of their life.

This is the type of brilliant out of the box thinking that only the world's best negotiator and most genius tech bro could have thought of.

I wonder how much money they can get for the naming rights to the White House? Isn't it about time the US military follow the lead of the professional sports and started placing ads on their uniforms? Or how about this -just sell the IRS to a hedge fund. You'd never have to pay taxes to the government again.

Its not a "card" to show a degree of proportionality and rationality in thinking and argumentation!

I don't care which side is doing this, when its a foolish -and dangerous- mode of thinking.

Its all emotion, no logic. Basically people chasing a dopamine hit of self-righteous validation.

You cannot disregard the collateral damage, it has dire consequences in the long term.

All of this reminds me when Elon was smoking weed on Joe Rogan and saying he was taking the company private on Twitter. The stock was crashing and everyone was saying he was a nut job. Looking back that time period was the best buying opportunity in the world.

I think 3-5 years from now we are all going to wish we bought Tesla stock right at this moment.

I just looked this up, only 226k people in the world have a net worth of $30 million or more. So that estimate makes zero sense.

Besides, if you are someone with that kind of money, getting citizenship in the USA is already possible. It just requires a bit of investment.

Could be the perception of a coordinated mentality considering it's happening in several different locations with similar tactics.
