Resident Crybaby
The easiest "A" I've ever given. They knocked literally everything out of the park. Hardware, features, 1st party games, 3rd party games, backwards compatibility, enhancements (including enhanced GameCube games!), release date, you name it. No price is weird though.

Still, the best new hardware/new generation reveal in gaming history.

C. Mario Kart World and the DK game were my highlights. Metroid 4 Switch 2 performance details were cool too.

I was pretty underwhelmed by the visuals we saw, didn't see much that looked like a significant improvement over the Switch. Might need to see some side by side comparisons.

A good ol zero, it's not clear whether or not switch games will run better or if you'll have to pay for performance upgrades, and no price ofc.

C, Nintendo don't need to show off their games this year and the MK looked good

Gamecube games and a new Hyrule Warriors will both get played by me, the new DK looked off, don't like his face.

Total failure. I was hype and we get this.

Terrible line up of games we all already played, and the video itself was rigged with bugs.

They announced more remasters than first-party games.
Not the worst shit I've watched, but considering that this was a damn console blowout, F.

D, typical Nintendo - late ports being sold at a high price, chugging performance for everything but the 1st party games. Typical Nintendo IPs, absolutely nothing new.

Easiest skip ever. At least for the PC you can buy a new handheld next year with better specs, this is outdated the moment it is out, gz living with this for the next 6-7 years.

The last Direct was mid at best.
But this one?

I rate A

I was wrong about most of things, but one thing I was certain was bringing PS4 titles to the mix and bringing the "upgrade" version idea.
They don't want Switch to be a secondary system anymore, they want it to be your main console. Switch 2 is that console from the look of it, and I'm totally onboard with that.

They gave me a GC controller, thats no beating that.

I was surprised how underwhelming their own games looked visually especially Mario Kart and Donkey Kong.

No mention of the UI

Some really nice third party support.

Will probably hold off for a while, nothing there for me to purchase on initial release.

It looked like a E until From Software entered the ring. Holy fuck! Wouldn't see that oke coming on in a million years.

They probably did not want to kill whatever buzz you may gotten from the presentation with Sticker Schock, save that for later. LOL!!! Plus the cost of the camera and probably an increase in the price of Nintendo Online (probably 20 dollar increase yet to be disclosed) which they will try to justify with Gamecube online.
I can't believe how they came back with some great online features. No mic or headset required. Camera if you want one.
I used to say they cannot top the Switch in sales, now I am inclined to believe they may top the Switch if only slightly.

Awful. Only 3 new first party exclusive games shown, a PAID digital tutorial "game," the upgraded versions of old games looked.... uninspired, no price, the stream itself went to shit, and a million ports of old games. Yeesh.

I'm interested in a few of the games but nothing makes me want to immediately pre-order. May cop when Donkey Kong drops.

Pokemon ZA Switch 2 version is all i needed, the rest, i expected a bit better, i guess they are waiting for next year for 3d mario because of the second mario movie

WOW…that f&^$ing sucked. What!?

No price, no preorder info?

The GOOD:

DK! Looks amazing
Mario kart looks ok

Civ, sports games, Harry Potter and Elden Ring!!!!

The bad: No upgrade info? GameCube Windwaker? We are going backwards now!?

Where was Rockstar, Xbox, Sony, Tekken, Resident Evil, COD? WHA

Where the hell is the price?

This was REALLLY BAD. I know people will sell it as awesome. I am deeply concerned now.

I'll give it a B or even an A. Looks like they good had some good games and the presentation was quite nice. No announcement of price makes me think it will be fairly expensive though. That could make or break it. Some crucial information was missing, but oh well.

This was a goddamn S tier. Unbelievable.

and not just because they showed old silksong footage with a 2025 date. Trust me.

F from a first party perspective. Failed to give me any reason to buy this console. Terrible graphics in both switch 2 exclusives. i swear these look like ps2 graphics.

THat said, Bloodborne 2 looked amazing and it is an amazing get by Nintendo if its a Switch exclusive. they did what sony failed to do. Herman should resign and then go live out his days in exile from shame. His company literally spent hundreds of millions investing in FromSoft and nintendo made bloodborne 2 instead.

Just insane. Game looks amazing too. GOTY 2026.

The only games that are of interest of me so far are Mario Kart, the new From game whatever it was called, and Donkey Kong.

But the hardware capabilites and graphics are far above what I was expecting so I am extremely pleasantly surprised - solid B for me.
