DualSense is the best controller of all time

Not going to lie, but that 8BITDO whatever it's called looks rancid.
I sure don't see rancid but to each their own

It absolutely is. Beyond the obvious haptics, etc, all the buttons, including the d-pad feel perfect and make no noise. It's a far cry from the Xbox noisy and cheaply feeling "clicky" buttons.

Nah. Haptics are a hindrance, no hall effects, ass battery life, pointless giant light beam, no replaceable battery, 80 dollars

Meanwhile, 8bitdo outdoes it in all those departments for half the price. Next please.

I agree. The haptics still are fantastic.
But. There are issues like stock drift and no battery door.
360 controller holds a special place for me too.maybe even higher

What I really like about dualsense is SILENT BUTTONS
I've tried xbox elite and holy hell buttons were so loud, unplayable at night, returned it

that little indent where the black plastic runs across the controller handles drives me insane + the abysmal battery life suuuuucks.

Haptics are nice but in most games I turn them off. I dont like the triggers fighting me back.

There are a myriad of controllers better than the Dualsense.

I keep coming back to the regular Xbox controller. The DualSense is a good second place, but it's too fragile and I like the shape of the LT/RT on the Xbox over the L2/R2 on the DS. I tried the Elite, but having the bumper wear out in less than a year felt like I got scammed.

DualSense is so much better than the previous PS controllers though.

Dual Sense is a 6/10 for me. Terrible battery (a fact), and I prefer the xbox layout (personal preference)
The Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra is my current favourite, but I also dig the 8bitdo ultimate.

That being said, I have no problems using the dual sense the few times I use my Playstation.

I have high hopes on a steamdeck like controller, here is hoping they keep the playstation style sticks position, and amazing touchpad tech. I'm using a duelsense on PC in the meantime.

Great controller, with just a few gripes: battery life sucks ass, and the big pad used as a button is dumb. Feels great though, and the built in mic is really nice.

It is one of my favorites but battery life is ass. I solved the issues with two controllers and a charging station but that should not be necessary.

Valve really should just put out a controller with all the Steam Deck controls. It could be tricky figuring out where to put the trackpads though.

Controllers must have ABC XYZ buttons

This is my favorite 2D gamepad and what I use for fighting games.

Dualsense would be my favorite analogue gamepad if it wasn't for the drift issues. On my 3rd in 3 years. Meanwhile all my PS2 controllers from 20 years ago work flawlessly, so that is still the best.

Dual Shock 5 is a massive step up in ergonomics, and I do like the adaptive triggers a bunch. All they gotta do is fix the battery life, give me back buttons for not $200, and have all the features wirelessly on PC with a USB dongle to be as close to perfection as a pad could get.

I couldn't stand the Dualshock 3 and 4 as I got older because my hands got too large to make it comfortable any long period, but they fixed it.

Stick drift and battery life ruin it, but as far as comfort and functionality, I agree.

This. A lot of people in here seem to like 8bitdo....sure wish it was compatible with PS5. Or that there was any reasonably priced alternative to the DualSense for PS5, really.

I think it's easily the best of the current first party controllers however the perfect controller IMO would be as follows:
  • Mixture of Dualsense and DualShock 4 size wise as I think the Dualsense is a little too big
  • Larger version of the PS Vita dpad
  • Back buttons similar to the NSW2 Pro controller or 8bitdo controllers
  • No touchpad
  • Better battery life
It's such a shame that we are stuck with the touchpad for the foreseeable future due to backwards compatibility.

I'd like the ergonomy / shape of the Xbox controller, with the silent buttons / sticks of the dualsense.
Also no lights at all would be a bonus, I always find them distracting.

I prefer the layout and d pad and clickiness of bumpers of Xbox controller. I prefer the trigger feel and face buttons of Dualsense.

I prefer the built quality and robustness of the xbox controller. I prefet the grip of the Dualsense controller.

The adaptive triggers are a gimmick, but internal battery is cool, too bad its horrendous.

The stick drift and battery life take it down to an 8/10 for me. I've already replaced the sticks twice in a year. The battery life is so annoying that I need two controllers.

It stands above the Series controller for me just because my series controller has developed stock drift and my dual sense hasn't.
Still below even my 360 wired controller though.

Except it's not default, the joycons are. It's an aftermarket controller.
The original Switch Pro controller had an 89% attach rate, it's pretty much "default" lol

I mean it's not on a technicality, but when almost every developer and game is designed with the expectation of Pro controller support, it's "default" enough that it is significant.

even the Joycons have them once you put them into the Joycon grip btw.
I didn't know this! Does the grip come with the system?

I believe it's only the Joycon charging grip that has the buttons and that doesn't come with the system. Unfortunately they show the charging grip in the videos a lot.

Plus the regular grip is simply a shell, and has no way to add extra buttons because there is nothing in there to communicate with the joy cons.

Picked up one of the Xbox Core controllers and the build quality on bumpers has solved my issues with OG elite 1/2.

Happy with no haptics, not for me and it's a must for asymmetrical thumbsticks.
