Bungie's Marathon set for April 12th reveal

Not to derail but I've been having fun on OUTLAWED. There's a demo and they also just added a PvE mode for those who aren't into PvPvE. Great for people looking to try the genre.

Yeah, I didn't mean that in a bad way. I want to see a full loop.
 
Now talk monetization? I paid 145 dollars for Tarkov. Worth every penny. 70 dollars, cosmetic mtx is acceptable.

Also can cross-play be turned off

Is there proximity chat in game?

The Free-to-play model has ruined this type of game. People will never see if there's value in a game like this anymore because they automatically compare it to any other free game that seems the same.

It's sad because it shouldn't be this way, but just like with gamepass subscriptions, once you launch it, there's no going back, and it messes with people's perception.

If it means Bungie will focus on single-player games, it will be worth it. If it leads to their closure, it will be a real shame.

I'm looking forward to it, but i can't imagine being good at the game. I haven't been super hardcore in multiplayer since halo 3 and reach i was 45 ranked out of the 50 on there. But even Destiny i was decent at it but could never sustain my skill against even better players.

But Gambit, i would destroy some of my favorite PVE PVP moments. But this looks like it will be difficult, never played and extraction shooter.

That being said I do hope this is the last shooter from bungie. i'd love to see them move to another genre of game in the future more of a single player.

Why for a minimalist artstyle i feel like i need to squint to see anything? and these are the character designs from top tier artists? dafuq i'd rather have ai. maybe then we could have somethiing bold or sexy or interesting in silhouette. this looks "ok" will that be enough in the current landscape? my guess is no, but they do have the Bungie gunplay which is good for controller and not much console competition for an extraction game.

Pvp focus with revivals
Battle royale style looting
Classes with skills

So basically it sounds BOTH complex AND sweaty

That Trailer DID A WAY BETTER JOB OF INTRODUCING THE TONE OF THE WORLD then i think the gameplay did.

A colony where everyone died in mysterious fucked up ways. We play synthetic transhumanist cyber mercs cause that seems like thats the only way we can survive on the planet. Going through death and rebirth looting and finding secrets at the same time losing more and more of who we are as we continue going down this planet.

This could been a single player game, with this extraction as it's main multiplayer, they may have sold themselves short. That being said they need to capture that tone in the gameplay/world!

Smooth "Art" style syndrome, too heavy of a PVP focus. The streamer segment was tough to watch. Felt like I was watching Apex Legends.

Live Service games aren't for me in the first place. The game was never going to be for me, but this looks pretty bad to me. I wouldn't say it has no soul after 10 minutes of playing it though.

I hope the game is fun for people who want to play it, but I have no interest.
 
Having watched some of the footage, I think this looks v.promising, though I'm kinda disappointed that it's not a single-player game.

Really dig the aesthetics and worldbuilding.
 
God damn that looked absolutely TERRIBLE.

Marathon is Doom with aliens instead of demons. I have no idea wtf this is.

One of the worst artstyles I've seen since...well...Concord.

I loved it all. Especially that trippy story cut scene at the end.

I'm in the discord doing /alpha but my messages are greyed out and not actually sending.

Plus the twitch drop I went to redeem can't be linked to a game account because there is no marathon accounts yet on bungies website?

Just give me a fucking code man…
