Quick question, is it possible to marry in this game? And have children? And can I see the process in detail?

Shadow dropping is becoming a viral thing. Do people really think millions won't play it because there wasn't a trailer 6 months in advance.

I think GTA 6 is going to break the internet (and real life) by announcing a release date 1 month in advance.

If its shadow dropping next week there's no way they are going to change that realistic look. It's the one thing I loved so much in Oblivion, the lush, green, vibrant fantasy look of it and one of the things I disliked in Skyrim. It does not need that realistic look. The structure and inside the city looks great, but the green should be.....well,more green.

Something I've been thinking alot about lately is voice acting and how AI will impact it.

Imagine for a moment we have the original voice acting files recorded for Oblivion which, lets be honest are pretty bad by todays standards.. and we now have AI tools which can generate any kind of realistic voice, replica of celebrities, pretty much anything. What is stopping developers or modders from using AI to recreate better voice acting?

Surely it is doable by now... similarly, the same tools could in theory be used to add voice acting to old games, no? this is exciting to think about since some of my favourite cRPG's of al rime had little to no voice acting at all.

I have no idea how modding is going to work with this game if its basically two engines stacked on top of each other, but I would guess that reshade presets are going to be very popular.

This is why its shadow dropping. You cant please everyone. Individuals like yourself will complain why the grass strands are a hue of green that doesnt vibe with your nostalgia.

Well currently there is still a voice actors strike about exactly that. Only devs who refute outright using AI like the new GTA 6 game are still being produced.

Pls have better dungeon and cave design .

Man the backtracking in those multi levels ruins and cave was brutal .

Oh yeah, their dungeon design could definitely be improved. Morrowind and Skyrim at least got too types of ruins like Dwemer and Daedric for Morrowind and Nordic and Dwemer for Skyrim. Oblivion only had one tileset for the ruins which is Ayleid. Oblivion also gets more repetitive due to the world being more open, having tons of Oblivion gate, and less diverse dungeons compared to the other 2. It's still extremely fun and has a amazing first time experience but just worse for replays compared to Morrowind and Skyrim in my opinion.

Skyoblivion is mixing these issues by trying to make a lot of things more interesting so hopefully Oblivion Remake does the same.

Thats GTA though that game transcends media
Yeah GTA VI would be the biggest game ever although a similar thing could be for Elder Scrolls since games like Elder Scrolls VI, Witcher 4, and Fallout 5 are also easily the biggest games out there in popularity and fan hype just one step below GTA VI but still higher than even other big games like Monster Hunter, Elden Ring, etc etc.

Look into Skyoblivion since they keep the high saturated colors from the OG made with the Skyrim engine and improving a lot of things from the OG. It's planned release date is 2025.

How come Xbox can never keep anything under wraps.
I don't think they want to keep it quiet. Surely a phone call could have kept this quiet if they wanted to, but I don't think they did. It just doesn't feel like an organic leak...but maybe it is. Otherwise how did this leak at the very end after years of development? If this was a real leak, then this is the kind of leak that Nintendo would end a relationship over, lol. I don't think MS is mad.

They want the prestige of a shadowdrop but they wanna spread the word beforehand. Everybody wanna be a shadowdrop until it's time to do shadowdrop shit.

Leak is more of a marketing the. Real marketing is. Only a fool would spend millions for a marketing campaign nowadays

It's so disappointing that this shadow drop has been spoiled.

I'm generally fine with leaks for upcoming games, but spoiling a shadow drop is like giving away the surprise birthday party. Feels like a dick move that really takes the fun of it.
Yeah but I don't think a shadow drop work without being attached to a gaming event/show. There needs to a "One more thing…" situation, can't just drop a Tweet and upload it on the store a random Wednesday.

But as it is, with the leaks, there will probably be some hype. People are talking about it.

Shadowdropping a game onto gamepass is a great way to juice up subscriber numbers I imagine. Announcing a new game and releasing it the same day onto a $20 subscription service is impulse territory for a lot of people. I haven't had gamepass since November when I played Blops6, but I'd resub to PC Gamepass without hesitation to play Oblivion Remastered.

It has already been done: Someone dubbed the entire Space Quest 5 game using AI trained on famous voice actors.

The author had deleted everything back then in fear of legal problems but i just realized he put everything back online.

I knew I had it somewhere

I originally played the game on 360 and then bought the GOTY edition on PC once I had one that could handle it. Then gifted my 360 and Dreamcast to a friend with all the games (what a mistake).

Come on Bethesda, DROP IT NOW!

The Bethesda.net website also has (had) multiple Oblivion Remastered strings earlier in the day, before they were taken down.

At this point this is the worst-kept gaming secret of all time.

Someone remind me since I played at launch and never again. Was the game as map and compass heavy as Skyrim? You know where you get a quest and just follow a marker or was there a little more thought and exploration needed to get to your destination? I know it's nothing like morrowind which in this regard did such a great job.

I see some people fearing Soule's soundtrack won't be in, any reason for that?

Because that would be fucking ridiculous.

Told a work colleague that I have never played Oblivion and he just put his head in his hands and said, "I would pay soo much money to experience this game for the first time again"

I really hope this turns out. It's hard to explain just how much of a fucking trip this game was in 2006 to someone who wasn't there, but it was basically the game that made open-world RPGs what they are today (yes, understanding of course that other games did it first). I haven't revisited Oblivion in a super long time, but I suspect that it's still a great time to be had, warts and all.

It was a hell of a trip.

My only experience of open world games before this were the GTA games on the PS2. Going from that to ESIV on PC was mind blowing 🤯

mostly because of the allegations he got hit with a few years ago. I don't think they would change it but you honestly never know.
Complete bullshit allegations I might add. He should have sued that woman to the moon and back.
But Bethesda cut ties with him even before that, he's supposedly difficult to work with.
