The whole point of Oblivion's look was the contrast between the pastel landscape and the corruption hiding just underneath, most obviously represented by the Diablo 2 portals Planes of Oblivion leaking into this dimension.

That's all I'm saying, yes I'm sure the graphics, polygon count, anti-aliasing, lighting, will be much improved but the brown tone/brown tint seems like a letdown to me.
 
This is cool and will buy if PS5 has a physical version. That being said, what I have wanted for years is Morrowind. I didn't appreciate the game when it came out and grew into the series way later, I thought it was ugly then, I think it's atrocious looking now.
 
I for one welcome a darker world. Runescape just came out if you want colors. I do understand the purists though. Skyblivion is coming for ya'll. It will also have the terrible combat intact.

Yea same the thing I loved about Oblivion was the whimsical nature, the pops of color... Skyrim was dingy and brown, which was fine but oblivion had that whimsical feel I loved it and I am still excited for this but man I home it's not as brown as these look
 
It's just so weird. This apparently is dropping April 21st and all we have are leaked screenshots and still no official announcement, not even a trailer. I really hope that's not an indication of a not so great remaster/remake.

I just bugged a real Xbox chat support tech for 30 minutes about the existence of this game. The most provocative thing he said was that the original game could easily be run at 60 fps and there's no reason current consoles couldn't do it with the improvements. The guy said he can't comment on unannounced games. He then directed me to bethesda.net for any further questions about it.

I specifically asked about the remaster and leaks the internet is talking about currently.

I loved this game. Aside from the long loading when entering the world. Should be fixed and fast loading hopefully.

I am not saying that the Remaster looks bad; I do like it. But there is just something charming about the Original that doesn't translate to the remaster. The original had character to it, compared to how shiny and modern but generic the remaster looks. EDIT: I wanted to compare the two pics of the battle on the bridge but I cannot get them to upload.

All the mentioning of the soundtrack bring back memories. If this Remaster drops and I can't roam the wilderness with King and Country blasting the background I'm gonna be mad.

Hearing this music makes me want to replay this immediately lol

Never knew that track wasn't in the 360 game. I replayed the 360 version on my Series X back in 2021. Game holds up pretty well with the higher res and 60fps. This remake will likely make that irrelevant though.

100%-ed it a few years ago when it got the BC enhancements. Was genuinely surprised at how well it held up, no bugs and crashes.

Don't want to disparage but it looks like it was the PC version only which needed all those unofficial patches etc to be fully stable.

Can't wait to 100% this again.
