Switch 2 Pre-Orders. Did you get one?

Got a Walmart one at 1am following the direct link a lot of people had sent. Not sure why people think it's going to get cancelled but hopefully it sticks. My card was charged and my account still shows the order so I'm hopeful.

Anyone have an idea why my card initially had a fraud alert? I routinely make large purchases on this card so not sure why it was flagged.
 
The Walmart site has me nervous. Both the Switch 2 and Mario Kart bundle aren't grayed out on my end -- like it will let me pre-order. If I log out, it shows NOT available. But when I log back in, it IS available.

Something doesn't add up.

Makes me wonder if my 1am order I placed was actually available or if I'm going to get an email informing me of cancellation?

Yeah. My order went in way too easy too. I would trust Walmart's logistics. They are probably shifting things around behind the scenes.
 
I didn't try. As much as I want to play Mario Kart I value my sleep more. I'll get one if Nintendo sends me an invite. If not I'll get one when I get one.
 
Nope, but I will wait for the honeymoon period to pass and see what issues it has. Before I get one, I have plenty of games on PS5, Switch 1 and PC to play in the meantime
 
After 100 or more failures, I was able to land a MK bundle preorder in at Target about 15 to 20 minutes after preorders launched. It allowed me to apply a pretty steep circle offer that I don't think is meant to apply.

If they cancel the order because of the discount then I'll take it as a sign that I should hold off a while longer for a limited edition or potential v2 model, but for the time being I'm pretty excited.
 
Alright which one of you is beside me in line?? This dude next to me has been going on about greedy Nintendo for an hour.

Check your online banking. I think they'll do a "pending charge" for the full amount that will drop off in a few days, then charge you for real when it ships.

Unless you do paypal like I had to - that apparently charges right away.
 
Having a physical MKW copy in the local bundle swayed me as this means I can sell it off later for something like $70 if I want to and defray the cost of the system.

It's pretty easy to manage a pre-order here tbh, like even now you can just go to Nintendo's regional store site and order one.

Nah, I didn't wait for the hour to strike and start F5ing or anything. I remembered to do so like 10-15 minutes after and gave it a shot on Target.com. I got a LOT further than I thought I would. I got all the way to the paying process where it started crapping out, lol. It's all good though. I did the sign up through Nintendo awhile ago, so hopefully something comes from that, but we'll see.

If not, I have no problem waiting, it's all good. :pie_raybans:

I unfortunately cant make it out to a store today. (Gamestop)

Pursuing this peacefully- is what it is. Im not NEEDING this day one and will get one when i get one.

Scored one at Walmart. Target was so bad I am going to avoid the store and hit Walmart instead when possible. FFS they triggered fraud alerts on my ccard because they charged it multiple times and then that locked me out and canceled because that's what happens when a "fraud" gets detected. Pathetic. Best buy can lick my asshole after shitting and before wiping because their system is so shit. They randomly allow people in the queue based on location and do east coast last because they like to make people suffer and then you get nothing. Not that Walmart was good. I queued at 11:58 and purchased at 12:41. That is a lot of waiting, thinking I was getting fucked by no luck.

I will add that this is a birthday gift for my Son, so I was more stressed about getting one than I would be otherwise.

Gamestop is doing online orders at 11 AM too. Try that. Amazon may not do anything.
 
I was unable to get one. Had it in my cart at target hit place order and I got some error it said something like split payment. And wouldn't let me hit the place order button anymore. So I tried best buy and it kicked me out of line 3 times until it sold out. I'll try today, but if not, I'm sure it'll pop back in stock at some point. If not, oh well, I didn't plan on playing any games on it until Metroid Prime 4 anyway.
 
Southeast US -- watched as the order button on Best Buy went from gray Coming Soon to Preorder. Was literally there as it went live. Was "in line" for maybe 45 to an hour. Kicked me out. Got back in line -- 20 minutes "sold out."

Target -- got the MK Bundle in my cart. Target says "Can't verify my address," even though it's the same one on the account that they've shipped to a million times. "Use it Anyway." Go to pay -- now Target wants me to split my payment: I have no idea why. Several times I get to checkout and enter my debit card code: "A lot of people are trying to buy this, so we're not going to let YOU have it." Kicks me out. Repeat. Did this for a good 20 minutes until Best Buy went live.

Walmart -- Was able to get the non-MK one without going into a queue. Popped it in, paid, was done. Still even said "Guaranteed June 5 delivery." We'll see ...

Kept trying for an MK one -- but it was late, and it seems everything ran its course.

Not a good experience. I don't know how people were coming into BB after me, and getting out of the queue faster. Regions, maybe? No idea. But there "line system" didn't work for me. At all.
Target: Well, let's just say I'm not surprised at all. They've never been good at this.

TL/DR: Yes, from Walmart. Non-MK system. Best Buy in line for more than an hour--nothing. Target: The app/website couldn't figure out how I wanted to pay--nothing.

I was able to checkout to a certain point multiple times on Target, but it always failed or removed it from my cart and made me start over.

I was in the queue at Best Buy for around 20 minutes with no luck.

I was in the queue at Walmart for like an hour with no luck. I was finally able to checkout just be refreshing the page (what was the point of the queue?) and when I hit Place Order, it would just say it was out of stock.

I could have kept trying, but I reached a certain point where I was like, "what am I doing? I don't even want this system that badly." I then closed out all tabs and went to bed.

TBH the whole gamekey card thing has really dampened my excitement. I may wait a few years until there's a decent number of Switch exclusives to justify the purchase.
 
After about an hour of chaos and stress with Best Buy and Target glitching out, a normal preorder at Walmart magically went through, no line or nothin'. So I guess everything worked out in the end?

Still going to GameStop today to try to get a second since my kids are pooling their money together for one as well.

Got one through Walmart with release day delivery. Best Buy and Target sites were absolute shit shows. Traget's check out was glitchy as as hell and Best Buy was 30 minutes later starting their preorders.
 
Fuck me I can't believe I missed this shit. I better get a Nintendo email soon.

So did they start this at midnight or what? I'm use to these things starting after 8am....

My best buy pickup date is June 6th 🤐😔. Oh well, I'll see if it changes closer to launch or just call them when the hype dies down.
 
I gave up, only one game at launch, i can wait till after launch.

Im tired of trying to things i don't really care too much for.

While I would not be surprised if Switch price will follow the suit of current gen consoles and increase in price with time, I will wait for OLED or Lite version.
