Switch 2 Pre-Orders. Did you get one?

Got the Mario Kart bundle, Zelda BOTW and a pro controller.

From my local gamestop, had about 40 people by the time it opened.
 
Got one from best buy canada. Will get one from amazon if I get the invite. Getting 2 for scalping purposes. Hopefully, I can sell one at a highly inflated price to subsidize my other one. If scalping fails, will just return to the retailer within 30 days... I also have a suspicious feeling that the price of the switch will increase over time like the ps5's did....

Currently waiting in line at gamestop but I got a ticket, so a preorder of the bundle is guaranteed at this point.

I miraculously managee to snag the console, physical Mario Kart and the "pro" controller from Gamestop via mobile website, like 13 tabs open. The app was pure ass trash failure.


Though i did take a screenshot of the confirmation purchase, i didnt get a confirmation email yet and its not showing up on my order history....

Definitely a lot easier than a ps5.

I still remember that day, my gamestop only had about 14 total for preorder (5 digital and 9 physical)
 
My experience:

Target cart loaded but always showed errors. Let me checkout once but the order was cancelled immediately due to system errors.
BestBuy ran 30 minutes late, held me in a queue for 52 minutes, booted me back to the front page, let me requeue only to be greeted with Sold Out about 20 or 30 minutes later.
Walmart was up on time, let me queue right away and allowed me to pre-order a MK Bundle after waiting 55 minutes. My order shows delivery before the 7th as of this morning.
Gamestop's website was (is?) completely busted. Never saw availability.

I know a lot of cancellations are happening on Walmart but they've been by far the least frustrating shopping experience.
 
I'm too old to be fighting with others over pre-orders. I'll try my luck with my invite from Nintendo. If I can't get one that way, I'll wait until it's less crazy.

- Best Buy eventually put me into a queue like an hour after preorders were supposed to open, never did anything (I assume the page died on me)

- Walmart queued me up nicely from the beginning, but never progressed and I assume the page may have died (no network activity after a while)

- Target was frustrating because it sold out immediately, then after 15 minutes of refreshing it somehow appeared in my cart and I couldn't check out. Then it progressed me to checkout and I alternated between place order and the Apple Pay context box. Tons of errors and a fraud alert from my bank that I responded to. I said fuck it and kept spamming and eventually one order went through, with an authorization and an email. Not expecting it to hold considering all the cancelled orders, but will be happy if so - it was the MKW bundle, and I am not currently even considering the console alone.

Good luck to all who was able to get an order placed, and better luck to those who didn't yet.
 
Anyone else get an order in on Gamestop's website? I did and got the order confirmation screen, but didn't get the email yet and it's not in my order history. Crossing my fingers that's just because Gamestop's site is behind right now because of all the traffic. But I saved the confirmation number just in case I need to prove it later.

Yep, it was kinda easy to be honest. I refreshed Target a couple of times, and there it was. It did complain a few times at checkout, and told me to input my name, my city, number etc. One order got cancelled, but second one went through

I also decided to NOT go for the Mario kart bundle since I figured everyone would be on that one, so I got the switch one for $449. I'll rather pay more for Mario kart and secure a switch

Had a switch 2 by 12:06 am

Logged in a couple of hours later and also got a SD card, case, and pro controller

Kinda surprised how easy it all was lol all things considered

I had to click through dozens of error messages on the Target app but I was able to get:
-Switch 2 Mario Kart Bundle
-Switch 2 Pro Controller
-Donkey Kong Bananza

Plus I had an 'extra 5% off' Birthday Coupon on my account so between that and my Red Card I got a $63.86 discount - basically got DK for free! :D

Yea it's gone already. Sounds like Walmart and Target and doing short restocks since the initial launch.

May be a good idea to continually check and refresh throughout the day. They seem to go pretty damn fast though.

Im in the same boat. Got order conformation via website. I didnt get an email yet and its not showing up on my order history
 
Managed to get a pre-order in at a nearby Mall Gamestop. The store had about 70 Mario Bundle Switch 2s to sell and 40 standard Switch 2's. Based on the queue of people lining up to buy them, I'd wager they will be sold out by the end of the day, if not before.

MAJOR EDIT- I just checked my receipt and they screwed up and just got me the system. Oh, well, I'll pick up the game separately. I'm not screwing this order up.

FINAL EDIT- As proof not ALL Gamestops suck, I just got a call from the local dude stating they caught the mixup, and they can just switch (pardon the pun) me over to the MKW bundle no problem.

Pre-ordered overpriced Switch from Bergsala, but then received and invitation from Nintendo shortly after to preorder it for 140 euros cheaper so cancelled the first one.

It's Nintendo, the games I'm interested in are usually timeless. It can wait. Not buying a newer/pro version when I already have one.

I did it once with the PS4 and moved to PS4 pro, and it was quite the letdown in terms of what it offered and the price.

Might as well just wait, skip the first iteration, and get the "complete" version later. Save some money that way. Meanwhile there'll be more games to enjoy, too.

Same here. Seems like many others are having the same issue based on the replies to GameStop's Twitter post. I see the charge on my PayPal but not confirmation email yet

This is what I expected, and when I got there and no line I thought they would be sold out already, but nope. Glad you were able to get one too, at least a real line is better than website line since you know for sure what place you're in.

I never saw any option to ever add one to my cart at Best Buy. Sat in the line for more than an hour only to get to a sorry sold out screen.

So overall just like with Switch 1, at least with my experience, Walmart was the place to have a fighting chance to get one.

If anyone missed preorders I know at least Walmart keeps some stock for launch in stores. But you will probably have to wait awhile the day before to keep your spot in line.

This was pretty much my experience to a T. Wasn't able to get a bundle, but I'll live.
If it makes you feel any better, my buddy and I still haven't had our preorders cancelled yet either.
Got both my Switch and Series X preordered through Walmart and delivered on release day, and I'm hoping this goes just as smoothly.

Agreed. Though I'm a bit jealous my sister managed to get one from BB last night after waiting in queue for about 30 minutes

I live in minnesota so its a bit chilly this morning

Same. Seeing a few of us here in the same boat makes me feel better. lol
My only mistake was not taking a screenshot like i normally do. So i dont have my confirmation number- heres hoping everything updates soon.

For reference i did order a physical copy of MK World and it shows up in my history fine. Just not the console (MK World Bundle)
 
Went to Gamestop at lunch. There was a line of about 12 people. Waited about 10 min got a Mario kart bundle. Store workers Said they had 37 units for walkins... everyone in line was able to get one. (Now casually on the hunt for a second as this one was a bday present for my daughte
