Looks like Mario CartLooks like Death Stranding.
It shows. Anybody who has watched more than 10min of gameplay would realize it's not just DLC..I'm not watching the gameplay..
Like I said, Kojima gets the benefit of the doubt. It shows. Anybody who has watched more than 10min of gameplay would realize it's not just DLC..
Looks fantastic and looks like more of the same
I'm in but my hype isn't through the roof at all.
OMG. NOT EVERY SEQUEL NEEDS TO BE A REINVENTION! You don't make any sense. Zelda TOTK didn't look too different than BOTW. But that doesn't mean that it wasn't an amazing sequel. Not the best execution and kind of disingenuous tbh. No one has ever said that about TLOU2 which was a huge leap from the first.
Horizon 2 and Ragnorok though? They were absolutely more of the same. Anyone here trying to dismiss the "looks like DLC" criticism is probably a braindead pony consumer tbh
That said, I'll always give Kojima a chance and I'm not watching the gameplay. He's never not pushed his gameplay forward. "Looks like DLC" is still absolutely valid criticism though.

It should be![]()
It isn't lol Looks exactly like the first game except with a few more options and added beauty. Might as well be your typical Ubi open world sequel.
Not even in Kojima's Top 5 ever for me.Man, this is the one for me. Original in top 5 ever for me.
Come on man. Show me a sequel thats completely different from the first game. DS1 was fire, all it needed was refinement and thats exactly what DS2 isIt isn't lol Looks exactly like the first game except with a few more options and added beauty. Might as well be your typical Ubi open world sequel.

Well i fucking loved the first one so its the most hyped game for me naturallyExactly what Im saying. I loved the first one and will most definitely buy this one, but nothing about it screams hype to me. It looks like more of the same, which is fine.
A sequel that's completely different from the first?
Super Mario Bros 2
Zelda 2
Toejam & Earl 2
Castlevania 2
Darksiders 2
Street Fighter 2
Dino Crisis 2
Ni No Kuni 2
Batman Arkham City
They're out there
Yeah, I am sure I am in the minority, but this game did not click with me. The new one looks to me identical. If someone loves the first, they will love the 2nd. If not, probably wont love this one. After that dreadful first game 30 minutes of gameplay is the least I need to convince me to buy another Death Stranding.
Edit:
what the fuck, things are exactly the same as the first! Dropping off cargo looks identical. The menus, the animations, the cutscene with a distorted hologram who says mundane bullshit like "o you're gonna connect us to the Chiral network right?" while you stand there like an asshole not saying anything back, the magical usb necklace, sitting in a clinical room, the elevator back up.
I'm 15 minutes in and I feel like I've been watching gameplay from the first game. Yeah the visuals are great but aside from the desert and jungle I haven't seen anything new. This is crazy.

I am just not into the whole delivering shit and building pathways over rivers and up mountains. Just not for me I guess. I am sure these are giant 60++ hour games too. Feels tedious. Was hoping for more action this go around, but I guess not. That's more or less my impression of the first. I've only heard two games in the last 5 years or so be referred to as getting much better, you just need to play the first 10-15 hours. That's Death Stranding and Starfield. I didn't finish either of these games. All the best looking gameplay I've seen from the first Death Stranding comes way after where I stopped playing, but I had no desire to make it through the slog to get there.
And this is why gamers cant be taken seriously.....at all.I'm still disappointed by the shabby collector's edition and the fact that Kojima is going along with it. For me, the game went from a day-one double dip (collector's edition for the collection and a standard disc edition for playing) to a "maybe I'll buy it someday" situation as soon as the CE was announced. All the hype is completely gone. Well done, Sony.
Your mom!美しい でも楽しみに ではないよ
Its a love or hate kind of game.. not middle gorund whatsoever ... anyone expecting to be different from the first one (and didnt like) is going to burn money. Everyone who loves it, well good for you, enjoy it.The hyperbole in this thread as if they've never seen a game before or played the first lmao. Looks like a visual upgrade from the first and improved mechanics, but it's still Death Stranding, you know, the game most of yall shat on for having abysmal gameplay? Now all of a sudden youre falling for this again? Cant wait for Toiletface Man to cry on screen for 10 minutes and gaf calling it the best story ever!11
Ahhh. The whole "iT lOOks lIkE dLc" comment again. lol
"iT lOOks lIkE dLC"Boring! Get some new material.
What is it with gamers these days calling every sequel that isn't a reinvention "DLC".
Yes, it's been improvedIs there more gunplay this showing? The original was very limited on it until late end game and didn't have enough enemy variety to take advantage of it.
finally something interesting to hear, so we get upgrades both from unlocking new toys and skill tree, neat.Apparently there is a skill tree and perks?
I actually agree with this, the need to preorder or buy day one has gone without such a release, might as well wait for discount and get the same thing. What can I say, it is what it is.
But maybe you're right - I don't really need the game right now, since I have so many other titles I already planned to play before DS2. It also doesn't feel like a summer game to me.
That said, I still would have bought DS2 if it had come with a good collector's edition.
As it stands now, the purchase has been postponed indefinitely.
But that's okay - my wallet is grateful.
Did you watch the whole thing?finally something interesting to hear, so we get upgrades both from unlocking new toys and skill tree, neat.
I'm at work, i'm gonna save the gameplay for the big oled when i get home.Did you watch the whole thing?
Nope. They looked like sequels. Because they were.Like I said, Kojima gets the benefit of the doubt.
Horizon 2 and Ragnarök were trash and may as well have been DLC though. Anyone who said "it looks like DLC" prior to those games launching ended up completely right.
