It brought me peace, freedom, justice & security.

I just watched Funny Games, the 2007 American version. It was interesting and worth watching. I always enjoy an uncomfortable psychological horror. But I can't help but feel it could have been a lot better.

That one was great and yeah I did watch the 2007 American Version

There are parts that were hard to watch especially involving the kid. That movie really pulled no punches

Yeah no kidding. That surprised the shit out of me. I think the only part I wasn't the biggest fan of, and am sure this is probably a divisive but common take, was the "rewind with the remote control" bit. I get that it was supposed to illustrate that there truly is and was never any hope, but it just felt a little corny and out of left field. Though I did really love all of the other 4th wall breaks.

Honestly a pretty solid movie. I'm glad I went in with no expectations.

John Marston John Marston Did you ever see that one?

The Friend - Bill Murray is in this for a few minutes, but overall recommending this would make me your enemy. 2/5 It is about a dog and monologue.

Without a doubt, this is the worst Terminator movie I've ever watched. It was so bad I stopped halfway through and only finished it about 10 days later. It's sad to see a franchise that started with two excellent films end like this.

The new story is weak, and the new heroine is forgettable. The action scenes are shallow overall, none of them were exciting. The new Terminator is somewhat cool, especially the part where it separates from its skin, but everything else is mediocre. If future movies are going to be like this, they should just shelve the franchise and never bring it back.

This movie is excellent. It had me hooked from beginning to end. The story is very good, the acting is solid, and the plot is engaging. It's a 30-year-old film that's better than many modern blockbusters. Definitely worth watching if you enjoy drama and police investigation films.

Promises of an erotic thriller were made, but there is very little substance here. And I don't think a few shots of butts and boobs count as erotic either. The filmmakers try to build a lot of suspense behind the big twist, but it's so obvious anyone could see it coming miles away. Stars Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson are of course professionals, but even their charisma can't do much to elevate this film. I guess it tries to make a statement of "If you just talk, you'll work it out", but this needed much more than that to be a good film. I could watch it once, but there's nothing there to warrant a second watch.

Ready or not

Don't know what to make of this. Ridiculous premise. I get it's a horror comedy and you shouldn't take it seriously but even with major suspension of disbelief the entire movie was a hard sell. It wasn't engaging or exciting. It was just corny as shit. The gore was awful. The scares non existent. No interesting characters despite a large cast. Instantly forgettable, that's about it.

What a movie, my friends, what a movie! The story, the drama, the actors, the scenery, everything was top-notch. If you're into movies with drama and mystery, you'll definitely enjoy this one. From start to finish, it's an excellent watch.

Clash of the Titans (2010)

I remember this being one of the first films to come out after Avatar began the latest 3D graze, and that it was bad. Like, the 3D conversion was done quickly on 11th hour to cash in, and I read about horror stories of how botched it was. I watched this in 3D to see, but it looks like they somewhat fixed the 3D for this home release, as it doesn't look that bad, just early 3D conversion bad. As in dark image, some ghosting and plastic look. The film is by no means good, but can be entertaining for a casual viewing. I guess it made enough money at box office too, sinve there is a sequel.

Good movie. The story basically revolves around the classic conflict between cops and robbers. On one side, there's a focused and determined detective trying to catch a professional thief who is just as ruthless as the detective himself. The film features solid action scenes and a strong storyline that delves into the lives of the central characters. It's genuinely a very good movie. If you enjoy this style of cops-versus-criminals story, you're very likely to enjoy it.

Just got back from seeing The Accountant 2 in a theater.

The Accountant 1 had a few aspects that stretched believability, but stayed mostly plausible with its corporate espionage.

The Accountant 2 is a pure popcorn comedy & superhero movie. It includes scenes of a team of non-verbal, hyperintelligent child hackers putting the NSA to shame.

Having said that, it was super entertaining, and just about every scene was memorable either due to funny lines or an inventive twist. Each scene with Jon Bernthal and Ben Affleck on screen together was making me laugh (which was the intention). Great brotherly chemistry, both because of the nature of their characters and their abilities as actors.

I'd recommend it if that sounds at all appealing. 8 out of 10.

and not get shit off the wife.

Wait What GIF by Willie Jones

Maybe you could talk to your wife into changing whatever habits (like is she rolling around in cow fields or something) is causing her to frequently have shit on her? Sounds like that would make your life more bearable. :messenger_winking:

I need to check that one out sometime, I was not expecting a positive reception to a film attached to a video game that barely anyone seemed to talk about, but everyone says it's surprisingly fun.
Yeah I was genuinely shocked that I enjoyed it.

I will say that my only exposure to the actors is in the movies, I don't know shit about their social stances, etc etc (also...who would complain about the At&t spokeswoman being in anything?) so removing any "social manure" the actors may be involved with, they all did well in the movie.

Its ok fun. Nothing that your wife would give you shit over.

Wrath of the Titans

Maybe I watched it too quickly after Clash, but I found myself drifting away while watching this. Now that I watched some special features from the blu-ray, I understand it better. It's still not anything to write home about, but it can be entertaining. The greatest strength over Clash are clearly visuals, especially 3D. There's no ghosting, and the picture is crystal clear. I don't know why ot faired so much worse than Clash, but maybe it was just the bad stigma.

Luckiest man in America - Press your luck game show winner. Good streaming movie. Good cast. good story. About a real loser that won big.

Captain America Brave New World
One of my least favorite MCU movies to date. Most of the action just looked like everyone was breakdancing, occasionally hitting each other, and one dude had a shield. I also hate it in movies when the character has just the exact piece of tech or gadget at the right moment. Absolutely no tension or weight to anything at all that happened. I was so bored it took four sittings to get through.

Watched Videodrome for the first time, finally. I'm a big fan of everything I've seen from Cronenberg, and this one's been on my list for a while. Awesome movie with expectedly excellent and grotesque practical effects. I didn't really understand the metaphor of the movie until it was over, even though in retrospect it seems pretty heavy-handed. It's crazy how well it applies to today's age of media, with our phones always glued to our hands, absorbing content. Cronenberg is one of those directors I describe as "bat-shit genius", and Videodrome mostly lived up to that!

That's top tier Cronenberg for me

Not just a goof. Goofy movie doc on Disney +. Fun doc about an underrated Disney classic from the 90s.

Humanoids from the Deep (1980)

Genetically modified salmon grow to the size of humans and are horny as hell

Kwaidan (1964)

The third story I liked the most, especially the immobility of the dead armies and the slow pace.
The fourth was not bad either, got me a little scare right at the end, I wasn't expecting it.
The first was good, especially the hair bit.
The second so and so.

The Univited (1944)

Great movie, one of the first to portrait ghosts like tragic figures, sound editing and sound effects were top notch.

Drop:

A fun thriller type movie that completely goes off the rails in the last 15 minutes. But until then it's fun and interesting and tries to do something a little different.

The Iron Mask

This film goes by many names. The box says The Iron Mask, the back of the box says The Mystery of the Iron Mask, title card reads The Mystery of the Dragon Seal. And then it's also knows as Vij 2. So who knows. The obly reason I bought this is that Arnold Schwarzenegger is advertised as a main character alongside Jackie Chan. Neither has a big role, and I found myself dozing out to check my ohone from time to time. This was from the time when Chinese were trying to make international movies. Strangely enough, this was co-produced by Russians.

The Descent
I love watching horror movies with my 17 year old daughter and I have not seen this one in over 15 years. It holds up incredibly well, and I forgot so much it was like watching it fresh. Great times!
