By this time most games lock to 60fps anymore and many are even 30

You should buy a pc instead and reuse your steam library
 
In the sense you don't even know for sure when GTA VI will launch or how it'll perform on ps5/pro or potentially PS6 yeah you took a gamble.

Unlikely but the game could be delayed until PS6 launch year and it might only run at 30fps in ps5/pro but 60 on PS6.
 
You paid less than the half price of the Pro.. I have both .. and you cant tell the pro is 2x better than the ps5, not even close, so you paid a fair price and I would run this ps5 until the end of the gen and play gta6 on your ps6 eventually if you want to maximize your experience. The pro probably wont give you a big difference.

Thats my plan.. wait for gta6 launch, check the pro version .. almost the same shit ? Wait for ps6.

You screwed up. By the time that GTAVI release the Pro will have dropped in price to $800. With deals you could probably pick one up for $750.

At the same price point, nothing else will outperform your purchase and it will run GTAVI which is your stated goal. Be happy.

Base PS5 is fine, 70% of the games I play on Pro are on the the standard graphics mode so if you not sensitive to framerates you ain't missing much, just a better looking performance mode.

But right now? A base ps5 is barely better than a ps4 pro.

I've def got a PC and a deck. 750 Steam games. 150 or so GOG. Dozens on the free epic store. Etc

My PC still rocking the 1080ti lol 😂 truly not felt a need to upgrade. Also GPU prices went beyond insane. I can do 1080p/60 on many or most games.

Mainly play the Deck though.

It paid for a huge chunk of my pro purchase making it totally worth it.

Will be a shame when they are all gone.
