They are trash, there's no two ways about it. I moaned earlier about the mushy feeling of the sticks, and checked my brothers, which is much the same. The vertical play (on the L3/R3 axis) makes them feel cheap, combined with the limited range, they are a huge let down on a system this price. We know Nintendo can make decent sticks, cause the pro controller is fine. The same applies to a lesser extent with the buttons, which are still too clicky, particularly the triggers.
Playing BoTW SW2 upgrade for an hour now docked and it's hot but the system fan is definitely running and dumping heat. Dock is hot but I can't tell if it's fan is on.

Pics and link below. For a $20 case, it is ok. It is just a solid piece of plastic. The grips feel good. Much more secure in my hands. I don't care for the fact that the grip won't come off with the joycon. It is a bit of a pain in the ass to pry out the joycon. You have to pull the grip away from the joycon and then disconnect it. The grip gets in the way a bit during the process.
I do like that the casing does not get in the way of the kickstand. That is something to watch out for as some definitely prevent you from using it.
Debating on whether to keep it or try something else on amazon.....or just spring for the dbrand $60 killswitch. Honestly, the killswitch seem incredibly overpriced even though it probably the best quality grip on the market. Going to stick with this for a bit and maybe some review videos will pop up on Youtube.
Isn't battery life mostly depends on how demanding the game is? because I played Bravely Default on portable mode for good 3-4 hours.
I think I'm starting to understand why they capped the play time during their events. The battery issue is real. I still like the system, but oof on the battery life.
The launch Switch had terrible battery life too. Woes of early adoption. They'll likely put out an improved version in a few months.
I dont really take Switch outside my house so that not really much issue for me.
I have not sat down for an extended play session with Bravely. I'll keep tabs on it today unplugged and update. I forgot how charming this game was.
I love Bravely series and I hope with this also bring Bravely Second to Switch 2 and announce Bravely 3.

Out of curiosity did you kept the plate on back of the dock after connecting the wires? I never put mine back.Playing MKW again docked for a while, measured the heat and it peaked at 50c/122f at the vent.

Same as Steam Deck. Same as original Switch at release. If you're playing AAA games it can get 2.5 hours, so less demanding game dragging it to 6 seems possible? Not sure what the problem is.

After further review, I'm returning this. It works with the dock, but it takes too much effort to get it in the right position. Feel like I'm forcing it and it should just drop right in.

The charging is pretty terrible in general.
Works for cartridges too. In fact, if you bought a physical Switch 2 Zelda BotW or TotK, it would just contain the Switch 1 cartridge and an upgrade code.
