That movie is a great movie! 👀

I just finished watching 28 Years Later. I had issues with the film but it was still a enjoyable watch. I felt that some of the music in the film didn't fit lot of the scenes. It was a weird choice on their part. Instead of quaratining UK, why don't the rest of world just nuke the country and call it a day? Also I was a bit annoyed that the kid sneaked his mom out of that island compound when he himself doesn't have the experience yet to survive on the Mainland by himself. HALF BREED ZOMBIE BABY! Zombie Alpha Jason Mamoa has a huge pee pee

Now I have to wait till Weapons and Together comes to streaming

Finally got around to watching Until Dawn.

Very meh, but it at least has some fun / interesting concepts.

If there was ever a director who squandered his early success, its Eli Roth. He's a passionate guy but damn, he has fizzled.

Not sure how you can stretch a torture pron premise into a series but if it features lots of hot eastern european chicks luring in doofus dudes, I'm in.

I watched this maybe a year or two ago and I don't remember if I posted about it. It is absolutely wild I highly recommend it next to The Thing it's my favorite body horror movie ever

They are all very good films but I need to make space for "Let the right one in" so one of them needs to go. I'll let you choose, and then I guess I'll see you outside?

There are lots of good runner ups; Bram Stokers Dracula, The Hunger, Once Bitten, Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, Only Lovers Left Alive, From Dusk Till Dawn, it's a very rich genre.

But I stand by my three as covering the traditional (Fright Night), the youthful hip (Lost Boys), and the gritty (Near Dark) that covers almost all aspects of it.

LET ME IN is pure bunk it's almost a shot for shot remake with horrible acting and a crappy American setting which kills the atmosphere of the original

Oh and they removed the most controversial part of the original and sanitized it for Americans

The original, with

Eli being a boy that was castrated

and Oscar not knowing, or possibly knowing but not caring.

As for other films in the genre, I have a guilty soft spot for Preist, with Paul Bettany and Maggie Q, and John Carpenters Vampires, with James Woods. There's so many good ones that actually locking in a top 3 is nigh on impossible.
 
Finally got around to watching Fear Street: Prom Night

It was... not great. The best part was when one of the kids got both his hands cut off with a large paper-cutter thing, and then was fumbling trying to open up the door with his stubs. lol

I wasn't that much of a big fan of the original either, but its worth a watch. This one, after it's trailer, looked amazing, but the story, the focus on the little boy, and the action was pretty flaccid. I expected them to leave their town on the island to explore the mainland where a bunch of f'up factions were formed over the years, see new kind of zombines they weren't aware off of, etc, but it's absolutely not what we got. Everything is happening in a small area, and that's it. 5.5/10 from me.
 
It only recently came out in the UK so I just got back from seeing Bring Her Back. Worthy of all the praise, that's 2/2 for the Philippou brothers.

It really is a great horror film and it seems it flew under the radar for many "horror" fans. I think the casuals steered clear. They don't want truly disturbing horror they want Megan, Sinners and Final Scream part 8 or whatever.
I read an interview with the brothers apparently The sequel to Talk To Me is going be even more unhinged than Bring her Back.

Thinking on Amulet, kinda reminded me a bit of
that black mirror episode White Bear if you've seen it. Also the nun not nun was excellent

The scene where the kid was chomping down on the kitchen knife and counter top had me wincing like hell
 
On a bit of a binge this week and just watched The Coffee Table.

Jesus fucking christ I was not prepared for this. Not even sure I would call it a horror. Best way to describe it was the worst car crash imaginable happening in slow motion right in front of you.

The lead actor was tremendous.

This movie will destroy you. If you hate someone in your life enough, recommend it to them. (stolen from elsewhere but sums it up perfectly).

Not really 'horror' but I've been watching the Crossbow Cannibal documentary. Bastard was from my city. He disposed of a body in the river five mins from my house.
