Dead Island 2 Reaches 20m Players - Developer Confirms Working on Next Title

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Dead Island 2 * Reaches 20m Players

* forgot to add the 2 in the title.

It's been 14 years since Dead Island first splattered onto the scene, stranding players in the blood-soaked paradise of Banoi.

Since then, the zompocalypse has crawled from tropical shores to the sun-drenched chaos of HELL-A in Dead Island 2, where over 20 million Slayers have left nothing but carnage behind.

This isn't the final cut though. Dambuster Studios are already carving out what comes next.
For now, the details stay under wraps, the outbreak is far from over...

Good, hopefully they make the game with bigger maps, they felt a little bit too small for my taste and I really hope that the story this time is a bit more interesting

Was this free on Epic or was it something else? I remember adding a zombie game to my list and playing it for a bit.
Edit: Just checked, it was this.

Kinda mid. Good if you want to beat up zombies.

This.
Bought it 4 months ago on PS, reached the sewers, dropped it...

The only positive about the game are the GFX which are pretty good (albeit very static) but other than that ? It's the definition of mediocre, it's the same shit you've seen 1000 times before since the PS360 era, it's boring, soulless and it's got no real reason of existing besides catering to people that get a hard on from super realistic gore, it's - literally - a disgusting game.

Dead Island 2 was fantastic.

Much better than Dying Light 2, if we're comparing games with open worlds and zombies as the focal point.
As far as open world zombie games go, my favorite is still 7 Days to Die.

But DI2 was still pretty good from what Ive played.

I played it at launch, and it didn't click for whatever reason. So, I revisited it later, and really enjoyed it. This is cool to see, good for them! Make the next game even better!

I'm glad it worked out for them because I for sure thought the game was vaporware. When it was actually coming out I thought it wasn't going to be good based on previous and similar experiences. Glad it did!

I would love a Dead Island 3, because man what a pleasant surprise 2 was. That game could have failed so easily after the development hell it had been in, but it turned out surprisingly good.

Could be an entirely different non zombie project, but I have a feeling it might be Dead Island 3.

Ah, I see it was posted before.

One of the only games I felt degraded having played it - that's how offensively stupid it was. It's just so massively dumb.

And it moved twenty mil.

I don't even know, man...

Well.......

That's why! 😁
I guess I felt that at first, but as it went on, I just got numb to it. IDK

I'm usually all-in on mindless (videogame) violence. Oh, well. But fair enough.

The first one felt like an Ubisoft game with zombies, so I'm not sure how to read into your post.

I beg to differ. I liked the open nature of the world. But that was only really for the first area, anyway. It got more linear (and buggy) as you progressed.

I also liked how creepy it felt. There was something off about the whole thing (well, you know, besides the zombies), despite the sunshine and palm trees. It managed to creep me out at times, even though the game wasn't trying to have a completely serious tone. Sort of the Dead Rising effect.

The sequel just made me hate myself for playing it. Yeah, pretty sure it was the TikTok girl. Think that's what did it.

I wanted to buy it for so long and then they gave it on Plus.
I tried it and dropped it a few hours in.

Gameplay gets repetitive very soon and the story is just lame.
