I wish I never checked X for updates, should've known better. Seeing his graphic assassination and such vile comments was upsetting. It's sad to see so many people celebrating such a thing. This planet is getting darker by the day.

You're not wrong, but as someone who historically appreciates left values, and will always judge people based on individual humanitarian merit regardless of identity, ideology or culture, I really can't say I see much good coming from the left these days. It's become a poisonous, hostile movement which now operates at the behest of the self rather than the selfless, and frequently harbours genuinely malicious intent despite endless self-righteous rhetoric.

If it's the site I'm thinking of, I just posted the other day of how I was googling game stuff and I stumbled upon that place (for the first and last time), took a look around and laughed as they have a thread there about this place and whining about particular members. If it's that place, not shocking those pussies would do such a thing.

Meanwhile on re, certain subreddits, bluesky, there are quite literally thousands of lunatics fist pumping right now, encouraged by equally psychopathic moderators. It's very disturbing.

Could have been religiously motivated, racially motivated, or politically motivated. With everything going on with current events this could have been a message from any of the recently affected groups of people.

It's true. We live in a world where a singular person's actions/comments automatically make people question anyone with similar opinions or beliefs, and it's awful. 1 person is not everyone. It's amazing to live in a country made up of varying opinions and mindsets, yet we're quickly turning into something where "if you don't agree, I hate you and you're an enemy."

I don't know how we keep doing this over and over, but these shooters are usually just not very politically motivated and are ideologically all over the place. Confused and angry is usually the common theme.
 
People were already hesitant to speak their minds in fear of getting cancelled and ostracized.
All the guy did was debate people and all they had to do was to humiliate him with arguments.

It's resetera. Bluesky is much the same. I had an account on bluesky. I ended that account about an hour ago. Vile, disgusting pieces of trash. Words don't kill people. People kill people. And it seems now that there is one side of the political aisle who preach for tolerance and peace yet dole out violence and murder.

I always used to consider myself a centrist but more to the left. Funnily enough, since Trump came along the true version of the left came out and these fuckers have pushed my political leanings further to the right. And it isn't even the right though, it's still lefty shit I believe yet the left has gone so far crazy left I don't know it anymore.

It's not about the number of assassinations of each side of the aisle but about how legitimized a terrorist attack is by the left. This should come as no surprise, because they are supporting terrorists and violent groups all the fucking time. Justifying a vile murder like Today's is just the next logical step.

This is the kind of people that would report you to the police in a totalitarian society. A global civil war in the West is not far fetched.
 
Even as a more liberal minded person this is a horribly tragic thing to happen. Even if someone disagrees with his policies or views, this isn't how you handle things. Fucking gross, and even more so anyone celebrating this as it only encourages more extremist behavior that none of us are safe from.

This isn't new violence it just keeps escalating from both sides. From an outside perspective I don't know how America cools off enough not to have a civil war the way things are headed
