Charlie Kirk assassinated at Utah campus event

I can't imagine anyone would mistake that to mean "trans" but even so, where's the misinterpretation of anti-fascists on the bullet/rifle? Surely something had to be engraved to have them put it in the memo?
Yeah this seems unlikely. Unless it was Chinese whispers type of thing.

One thing I've changed my opinion on within the past year is the censorship issue when it comes to social media. I was never a free speech absolutist. Because frankly, some speech on social media should not be allowed. I mean we see it on this very website. There are just people who bring the entire experience down for everyone and getting rid of them makes the community objectively better for all. I'm talking mainly people who harass, people who make threats, etc. But I did say that while I am not an absolutist, I am for allowing most speech. Even speech I find vile. Like mocking the death of others and such.

Within the past year, I've changed my opinion on that. The argument for it is "We need this speech to be brought into the light and exposed. So we can find out who you(the ones with vile thoughts) are." I've come to realize that I was pretty naive and idealistic feeling that way. The unfortunate reality of social media is it has allowed a lot of mentally ill and violent people to congregate and form communities. And they all feed off each other's madness. And whether or not the shooter of this particular crime was within that community remains to be seen, but it doesn't matter. There is a simmering going on within the bowels of social media and if it continues at this pace, eventually it's going to explode. Whether it's one year, five years, ten years it's going to eventually get there. And knowing what "BlueCat98341" thinks about Charlie Kirk or Donald Trump or Joe Biden or whoever else is not going to prevent that from happening. We've created a monster and I think society would be far better off if these kinds of people were kicked off of social media and sent back to stewing in the corner of their bedrooms to themselves instead of feeding the rage and fantasies of others. You're always going to have deeply mentally ill people beyond repair, but some of these people would be so much better off if they were forcibly taken offline. If that's even possible at this point. It might be too far gone when it comes to technology and access.

The true black pill is that I actually doubt what we read online are the minority views of the mentally ill. Studies have shown that the percentage of people who have had violent thoughts at some point or another is exceptionally high. Something like 85% at least, but I imagine it's almost everyone (depending on the circumstance).

People are more online than ever. They are more literate than ever (literacy is a relatively recent achievement in human history). You can have a comment posted in the public space within seconds, so you bypass people's impulse control before they even have a chance to stop and think about what they're saying. Pair that up with anonymity and it's little surprise we see the level of violence expressed nowadays. I think that what we are seeing is a side of human behaviour which has always been there but has until now just remained in their heads.

Consequently, I don't believe the YouGov polling posted above for a second - for either party. It's easy for people to give a politically correct answer which they think a pollster wants to hear or which they think makes them/their side look more moral. Give the same person a username and a VPN and what they actually think will stream out.

I've been thinking on this, is it really dangerous though? To whom, the completely made up AI guy that was hallucinated and doesn't even exist?

I think I would be more frightened if that enhancement actually ended up being 100% spot on, but that's probably for another thread.
And what if it happens to look exactly like some guy stocking groceries at WalMart that had nothing to do with it and some crazy decides to take him out based on a fake image?

They'll let murderers and rapists free but god forbid someone attacks one of their own, lock him up.
Yep, and this was the point Charlie was making with the 'bail him out' comments. Nothing he said was in support of the attack or the attacker; he was alluding to the Democrat propensity to let people out to continue their crime spree, but for some mysterious reason not in this case when it affected Democrat politicians directly.

Ok it's not the main thing here, but when this was playing on the big screen on the news, I had a weird feeling that this was an AI video, it was weirdly perfect in an imperfect to reality way. When the white house posted it I figured no, but then people are digging in and finding this stuff

So could the rifle be concealed in his clothing ? That's my first thought on seeing the way he's walking.
Yup, it explains the limp.

It looked off to me too. Could be some kind of AI enhancement?

Hasn't Trump been having health problems that have been showing up as deep bruises and swelling on his hands and ankles? Probably AI shopped the video to hide his ailment.

Yeah I mean I get that, but an actual picture of him will inevitably look like some guy stocking groceries too. I mean we base manhunts on pictures like this

Those have a WAY higher chance of causing false positives.

That said I don't think having AI make up something hyper detailed is helpful or anything, if anything they should have had the AI be fairly generic like a police sketch in order to compensate for the lack of information.i

Channels that I watch are really going in on the conspiracy stuff. Not used to seeing that. Just going to keep waiting for more info and time to pass.

I got burned hard on 9/11 conspiracy stuff back in the day until I saw a video of the people who made the video and they were total retards.

I believe if that is the shooter, he either has the rifle down his pants(is that possible, GAF gun experts?) or he's altered his gait to avoid identification, which would be meticulously planned. So far this individual has covered his head, eyes, and could be faking a limp to throw off the police.

Still don't even know if this is the guy, but if it is, this is meticulously planned. And even the idea of walking and not using a car. Any cop or detective would tell you cars are far better identifiers than people. Walking to this event makes him much harder to track.
