I think the issue is that she brought her employer into it. Whether intentional or not, Sucker Punch was listed in her bio. Therefore, her employer made a decision regarding her suitability to remain with the studio. As for it being a mistake, I don't believe she sees it that way which can be seen by her comment about "standing up against fascism" in the wake of being fired. She, along with many others, have become far too comfortable with making needlessly cruel and inflammatory comments on social media/public spaces and, at long last, some are paying the price for that lack of perspective.
Agreed on her safety, though. She received an appropriate consequence for her action/words and it's probably best to just leave it at that.
