Charlie Kirk assassinated at Utah campus event

So what is it? Is he far left or far right? This is so confusing because both sides are saying the other.
according to some over here, he is a 4chan furry extreme right wing conservative and religious that killed Charlie just cause he thought Charlie would like to be close to God, he also made inscriptions on the bullets to troll everyone in thinking he was a leftist antifa, also there is a picture of him on Donald Trump shoulders going to hunt leftists with someone else, right wingers ll tell you that this picture is a Halloween costume to mock DT, dont belive them.

More extreme right wing. Groypers don't like media like "turning points" (Charlie Kirk) because they don't promote America First ideals.

The stretch here is Groypers are further right. "Fascists". This guy has multiple links to being anti-fascist. So the only way he could be truly a groyper, is if the anti-fascist stuff is all false flags. But you then have to assume that it's all false flags. I'm not about to take that leap, personally.
If it is even true he was interacting with an anti-fascist discord, we don't know in which context this interaction happened. As yet anyways. I follow and subscribe to groups with way different ideological ideals than I have, to see what they are saying and to occasionally soft troll them.

I'm not saying this is the case, just that without context, just knowing which groups he interacted with doesn't tell us everything. This also includes the grypor communities.

I'm concerned about copycats and motivated attacks spawned from this. And this may have been spawned from the Brian Thompson murder in some way, that still remains to be seen. But throughout history we've seen crimes come in waves.

The Illinois Tylenol cyanide murders in the 80s sparked some copycat crimes in other states.

Since Columbine, we've seen a drastic rise in school shootings.

There were a series of Anthrax attacks in the early 2000s.

We see serial killer copycats.

And immediate crime waves like rioting and sprees as we saw in 2020 and 2021.

Any public appearance the security needs to up their game. I saw Ben Shapiro say yesterday he will still be going to all his public speaking events, but they will all be indoors now because outdoor just has too many vantage points for killers.

I'll wait to hear more…

But I have a hard time believing someone further to the right would be motivated kill Charlie Kirk. That sounds like some real cope.

But who knows. Crazy people are crazy.
If the usual people like Loomer and others stop talking about the killer and more about people's reactions in the next few days, then you have an indication.

This is like not releasing the identity of a criminal after he was arrested, because it would not fit the narrative.

I don't pretend to know what this lunatic thinks. I'll wait for the full info to finally settle. I haven't seen anyone in Antifa that could even wield a stick well, let alone a rifle, but maybe they've been practicing. I think whatever this guy thinks, it's clearly pretty fringe and pretty out there.

Not surprisingly, it's a white guy.

If there's one consistent thing about USA mass shootings, politicians getting shot/killed or any other splashy violent event trying to make a statement it's pretty much almost always white guys.

It makes sense it's basically never a woman because they dont do a lot of crime, especially really violent ones.

But when it comes to school shootings or politicians getting involved, it's white male adult, or white male student. And almost always from small towns. I dont think you get too many big shooting events like this in New York City or hugely populated cities, which you'd think would the norm based on population density and lots of crime in metro areas. But it always seems to skew to the outskirts or some rural kind of town with big fields or a shooting in a giant high school.

"Of the 172 individuals who engaged in public mass shootings covered in the database, 97.7% were male. Ages ranged from 11 to 70, with a mean age of 34.1. Those shooting were 52.3% White, 20.9% Black, 8.1% Latino, 6.4% Asian, 4.2% Middle Eastern, and 1.8% Native American." -NIJ study from 2022
Whites are disproportionately low for mass shooters according to this.

White crime is more likely to be reported by the media than crime by some other groups which the media prefers to ignore. This could be skewing perception.

I couldn't find stats for school shootings by shooter race. I suspect you are right for politically motivated killings.

This is a strange way to state a statistic.
WIthout checking the voracity of the data, their own quoted data has white americans committing more than double the mass shootings.
~78% of the population commiting 53% of the mass shootings.

vs

12% of the population committing 21% of the mass shootings.

Why in the highlight statement does it place both groups together?
No idea.

and why does it mention black first?
Who cares? All that matters is if the data is accurate. I agree with you that we should look at all data with skepticism.

without going outside, socializing
Well, my wife and I did.

We was in quite a well to do bar in Bath and we got talking to a couple. The bloke seemed nice (Worked for astrazeneca), his missus, seemed okay (Worked for Al jazeera) . My wife was talking to the bloke, I was speaking to his wife, all was was well and this was before I knew her career..

She brought up Gaza and I just said in a tipsy way, yeah, they could free the hostages..

She went fucking mental..

It took a while for her to chill back out, shots were done.. but her face? I've never seen something turn so demented.

So all in all. It really doesn't matter if you're 'socializing' away from your computer. Politics is now everywhere, and it has utterly demented people far beyond any normal metric.

You're missing a lot of context with your example. The U.S. wasn't nearly as politically divided in Sept. 2001, and it was an "us vs them" mentality after the attacks of 9/11.

Do you think Bush could unite the nation if he was president now in this current landscape after a domestic assassination? There's literally nothing Trump can say that would make any remotely liberal-leaning person listen to him.
the country has always been politically divided. you may not remember but bush was literally enemy number 1 after he stole the election (at least according to the democrats). he was welcome by people throwing eggs at his caravan at the inauguration. but those same democrats set their differences aside and stood behind him. iirc, he had like a 90% approval rating post 9/11.

you are probably right though. nothing he says will convince liberals but he couldve said nothing and it wouldve been better than saying i want to beat the hell out of radical leftists. without any proof that the shooter was a radical leftist.

I just had to unfollow Art By Moga which was one of my favorite webcomics after she made a post saying, and I quote below

"What are you thoughts on Charlie Kirk's death? Honestly, I feel the world is a better place without him in it."

just utterly vile that these people think they're the good guys when saying shit like this

I don't understand these takes from people especially at a very sensitive time.
Glad they caught the killer.

But I can't help but feel that in the coming days, some nutcases in positions of power are gonna start associating this with 'violent video games', again.
Everything needs a scapegoat or a distraction. If it comes out that the shooter was not a democrat, then expect the blame to go literally anywhere. Seemed a lot of the takes prior to him being caught was "evil left" and LGBTQ related. Whats left after that? A misguided, lost child that needed more God/Jesus/whatever?

This broke my brain. They need to patch their bot programs.

I wonder if they can confirm this stuff:

I don't know any of these slogans, so I assume they aren't right wing, but I'm having boomer feels at 45.

They don't ever mention the word fascism in the game, no. The game is a parody, much in the vein of Starship Troopers.

They did add the line in the most recent game update where your Ship Master says, "I hate socialism" as a random quip they sometimes do. They call the Automaton bots, "socialists robots" for context and the Terminids they mention are "a truest form of democracy," but they're "mindless bugs hellbent on terraforming and destruction," ironically.

Super Earth is basically when Communism and Fascism made a love child that is "Managed Democracy," but still wants to operate in a hyper capitalist state for it's citizens in purchasing war-bonds for the effort of "spreading democracy" across the galaxy. The CCP, maybe? 😷

According to law enforcement officials, engravings on both the spent and unspent casings in the bolt-action rifle that 22-year-old Tyler Robinson used on Wednesday to murder conservative personality and commentator Charlie Kirk, contained "memes and inside jokes" from several communities on 4Chan, Discord, and Reddit. Some of the engravings included:

1. "Notices bulges. OwO What's this?" (A phrase popularized by furry and roleplay groups online, that has since become a major copypasta in online video game communities)

2. "Hey fascist! Catch! ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️" (A reworded meme with a reference to the video game Helldivers 2)

3. "O Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao Ciao Ciao" (An anti-fascist song from Italy in World War ll that has since been remixed into a song popular in many online gaming communities)

4. "If you read this, you are gay lmao" (A phrase once again popularized in online communities for its similarity to old email chains and trolling posts on Facebook)

Terminally online, either way.

They definitely got millions from Russia. There's no evidence Tim Pool knew anything about it, but the two founders definitely knew it was a bogus investor (from internal emails). I believe they were indicted, but not charged--They only went after the Russian RT employees iirc
Don't know and don't care to speculate. All I know are they aren't charged, prosecuted or in jail.

Thanks for the Helldivers explanation. I'm more curious about the other slogans, though.

Neither is "Ciao Bella", "Nice Bulge", or "whoever reads this is gay lmao".These quotes are known pro trans, pro-Marxist, ANTIFA slogans & jokes, and have been for years. Just like "hey fascist, catch."

That part. I figured the purple people should know.

How insensitive of you to suggest something reasonable.

So video games killed Charlie Kirk. Oh boy.

It's too far gone. People celebrate the assassination of the "let's have a debate" guy.

I'm concerned about copycats and motivated attacks spawned from this. And this may have been spawned from the Brian Thompson murder in some way, that still remains to be seen. But throughout history we've seen crimes come in waves.

Yeah; that's the problem. The Secret service does a pretty good job of protecting high value folks like the President and Vice from snipers, but most other people can't get that level of cover.
We've had two sniper incidents in one calendar year…hope this doesn't spawn copycats.

Another thing to worry about is the drone shit happening in Ukraine, with people seeing how easy it is to strap a grenade to even a fucking DJI Mavic.

Security is going to have to step up in a big way going forward. But everyone needs to nip this shit in the bud at a family level.

Not to give fuel to the "ban the guns!" crowd but the relative difficulty in getting/making quality explosives is probably the only thing limiting these types of attacks. If I could buy a pound of C4 and a detonator from Home Depot.....be a lot less skunks in my yard, that's for sure! :P

definitely better than whoever the NYT used to claim that the bullet casings did not have anti-fascist messaging on them
Crowder said it had trans messages though, which led to hours of inaccurate speculation and the ATF saying it wasn't confirmed. I personally would never trust Crowder with anything. He gets random leaks and just puts it on the air. A real news organization will likely at least try and confirm with two sources, and probably wait for more confirmation. But they get stuff wrong too of course.

I am glad he was caught. Do not care where he sits politically. Sadly, a young man had that much hatred to do something so vile. I hope he confessed to his father because reality set in, and he understood what he did was wrong. The Governor of Utah was very thoughtful with his words and did a great job. I hope the vileness that people are spewing will stop now that people are actually losing their jobs over their absolute craziness. One of my best friends had to fire one of his employees yesterday after he celebrated the assassination and said he hopes the president is next. That upset several other employees (he said this in front of them). I told him he should also contact the Secret Service.

How insensitive of you to suggest something reasonable.
Yeah it was all very, very odd. I didn't even say much more.

I swear to christ she lurched right back in a weird Exorcist way

The whole evening was trippy.

I fell over later in front of three loaded bars, wife had to help us.

..No shits given.

It's been that way for quite some time. Especially when many agencies sit on or make up information to shape a narrative.
Yeah I've found him to be pretty good. Even if he takes the piss out of us Brits with glee.. (And let's be honest, we look like utter twats, so fair enough..)

He's done some excellent pieces.

Yeah, and this is why i refuse to build my son a PC from my spare CPU and GPU parts.
And why i will never buy him an iphone. he can buy one himself when he turns 18.

I haven't given my 11 year old kid his own computer yet... but he has a phone.

Whenever I've inspected what's on it... I'm shocked at how innocent it is. He doesn't do anything interesting at all. Its all searches for how to do things in games. Its actually kind of annoying not to get any insight into his mind :messenger_grimmacing_

Curious as to how its going to evolve.
