Gardening GAF - Green thumbs ahead

I'm finally currently getting inspired to do some landscaping. I want to have some of your ideas or any inspiration. It's sad because I'm the only one in my family to not have a green thumb. I will try to correct it but I killed cacti so.

This is my parents garden (they're moving soon as they are getting too old). It won many prizes and I'm under a lot of pressure from my parents to finish my backyard. I wrote a book on their journey and that's the main reason why I'm getting inspired these days. My uncle also won many prizes for his garden and has books on the subject and was the defacto Canada's place for international politicians to visit. So yes pressure there is. (I'm the one who named my uncle's Garden though).

A tour of my uncle's garden:

***BTW this is akin to my other construction threads that were liked, not meant to boast in any ways just I like to build stuff and I can't redo my bathrooms every 3 years.

I'm in the process of renovating the exterior of my house so will be inspired by black metal sidings that I'm currently putting outside my bedroom.

My all in landscaping budget is 150k$CDN and I want a pool, it will have to be overground cause I'm too close to the lake and don't want to flood my basement.

So this is what I have to work with. I have a shy bit under 1/2 acre.

I will probably redo the deck entirely in concrete as I was looking to buy this pool. I also bought similarly looking planters.

Way to make us feel poor and tasteless.

Also, gardening is hard work..
I live in one of the poorest place in Canada. I did landscaping with my mom's business when I was younger. Just this year was bad for me due to an injury but since I have too much time on my hands I need something to do, hence this thread for ideas.

Taberouet it's not just the thumb your family have green it is the entire body.
Very nice garden maybe just a tad clustered in the first pic (but it might as well be the angle of the pic).

My idea for you build a nice waterfall, they are very hard to get right so it should occupy you for a while.
Another idea, take a plane ticket to Paris, weather is very good this time of the year and i have shelves that need fixing for months and im too lazy.

My advice is never plant Bamboo, even if the label claims it's a clumping one that won't spread. It WILL spread and it's a fucking pain to dig up.
