I cancelled last month. It's just cheaper to buy the games than have the subscription for me. Now that the price is jumping to $360 a year for the Ultimate. I feel like Microsoft has decided to run the brand into the ground and maybe in 2028 kill Gamepass and fully go 3rd party. What a sad shape Xbox is in.

I mean there are a ton of games released just day one, never mind older games. If you are an avid gamer who wants to be in the zeitgeist then it is still a good deal (especially on PC). It just became a lot less so and for someone who isn't interested in a lot of those games or just doesn't have the time it starts to be a waste.

I'm not happy with the price increase but....

You are forgetting non 1st party games (along with some other 1st party games) that were day 1 on Gamepass and with the new Ultimate they are claiming 75+ day one games per year.

Say on average those games cost $30 each, thats roughly $187.5 worth of games a month.

Agreed it's dumb move. How many people even need more than 360 worth of gaming per year. Let's say you don't buy day one, so .. 30 a piece for a few months old games is 10 games. Thats more then enough for most people and the ycan keep the games unlike subscription. Really baffling pricing by MS.
 
All these folks that have subscriptions will all end the same. You pay for their yacht with your smaller bank account and they laugh at you with your empty rented game library.

Another wonderful day of laughing at folks and the reason I won't even let my wife or grandkids have Netflix, PS Plus, or anything that is a subscription.

He didn't read Xbox's tweet correctly (they said" these games are coming to Xbox in October" not "these will be day one game pass in October")

I mean Netflix is $18 a month for 1080p streaming with the option to pay an extra $9 a month on top for two people to use the account. It's $25 a month to get 4K.
 
I only bought a Xbox to play old COD online and gears 3. Basically my Xbox 360 pro. No way i'd ever buy a 9th gen game on it. Who knows what happens to my library?

I went out with the last price hike after I was done playing Black Ops 7 and I've since stayed out. Since then I've purchased the Xbox games I've wanted on PS5 and will continue to do so as long as they keep releasing but yea this means I'm officially out of Game Pass. There's ZERO reason to be subbed to GP without having day 1 access to new games or else you're just paying for the games that are on super cheap sales non stop and you never actually own them. No thanks. The issue isn't even the $30 a month, I mean that's pricey but we all know they aren't stopping there. It's gonna keep going up. Before long we will be looking at $40-50/mo and you will have to be playing a brand new game every single month to get any value from it and those games have to be bangers. Yea, no thanks.

I've been using game pass since it was launched.. I'm not even that big of an Xbox gamer I mostly use it on PC and only occasionally on Xbox.. I would have never canceled had it stayed at the price it was but this is just too much for me I'm canceling.
 
It´s like failaure after failure. I just renewed last month my PC Gamepass sub for Gears Reloaded and Ninja Gaiden II Black, but i´m out. At this point, it´s like they really are asking to be fucked up. Too bad now Sony doesn´t have any direct competition at all. Nintendo should take advantage and release some sort of Switch 2 "Pro desktop" just to compete directly with PS5/PS5 Pro segment.

The main reason to go with game pass is to play MS first party games day one . I listed the games they released but let's be honest. Half of them are not worth buying even at half price.

Hell add silksong, add expedition 33. You are still below the asking price to rent them.

For what they have the audacity to ask this much ?

They are scamming people. Just like how they are scamming people with these Xbox hardware prices.

There is no way in hell the Xbox series x 2tb to cost this much. Just a garbage company that deserve to die
