Microsoft revamps Xbox Game Pass plans and hikes Ultimate to $29.99 a month, Ultimate gets Ubisoft+ Classics and more

I mean Netflix is $18 a month for 1080p streaming with the option to pay an extra $9 a month on top for two people to use the account. It's $25 a month to get 4K.
I mean Netflix I've went to the cheapest option which is standard with ads at 7.99$ CAD a month.

33.99$ CAD a month for a gaming monthly sub is just stupid.

Why the massive difference between PC and console gamepass?

What you complaining about?

I'm wondering when MS figure out how to have an ad supported tier. Traditional games have not worked with ads due to their player guided nature, but if anyone can find a way - it will be MS.

Lol, in Australia the price for ultimate went from $23 to $36.

Phil should've been fired years ago. Terrible, clueless CEO.

Just did the Core to Ultimate conversion before everywhere puts all the code prices up, glad my subscription expired recently, that plus sharing on 2 Xboxes keeps me for another year at least.

It's £22.99 a month full price in UK. When I have dropped to £1.99 Disney Plus, cheapest Netflix etc they whack the price up. So out of touch with shit, MS played themselves.

I can't blame people leaving, and with no exclusives either people won't drop to a lower tier, they will just move to Playstation.

The best time for all the Ex-GamePass users to join Steam where 360€ can get you so many games, has constant sales, even cdkeys, best customer service and app, and both Sony and Xbox publish there, plus it has the best player base

Cringe. How did 9 people like that comment?

That was the time where I was convinced that Gamepass would be the main way people consumed video games. I thought Microsoft would have every publisher begging for day 1 GP access and gamers would pay any fee asked.

I was so, so wrong. I must have been having a breakdown or an early midlife crisis.

Now I understand why your username:

I use Ultimate, so quick maths shows AUD$276.00 up to AUD$432.00 a year. That is a pough pill to swallow in this economy when all we're getting is Ubisoft games that no one is buying. At AUD$23.00 a month, it's easy to justify for the rotating titles on offer. At AUD$36.00 a month, I could buy a game on sale. I'll breakdown what I used Game Pass for for this past year, add up the cost of what they were to buy on sale, and see if it's more than $432.00. I got a gut feeling it isn't - which means Microsoft loses a five year subscriber.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: they're gonna crash this fucking industry out of nothing more than sheer unadulterated greed.

Shout out to the focus testing groups who sacrificed their time and braincells so MS could make those charts as confusing as possible.

Nadella is in full control now. Phil will "retire" in the next 8 weeks.
