Wait, so a 100% increment in 8 years? Living in a country where you get 200% in a year, that's not that bad.

Prices also increased in Argentina, Ultimate is now AR$ 24999 which is like 17 dollars plus taxes (an extra 4 or so). Average income is much lower, though, maybe 500 dollars per month.

It's clear by now that they're killing the console.

But instead of doing it harmlessly, they're trying to milk the last Xbox gamers as much as possible (also damaging the brand, but at this point I think Microsoft doesn't care about the Xbox brand and in a few years they'll rename Xbox Game Pass to Microsoft Game Pass).

I don't think gamepass will exist on a few years. I think they're milking it now, tanking the brand, and will just sell game à la carte only again.

I bet the next Xbox launches and Gamepass will be dead in the way we know it. It will be a copy of PS+ and they will not offer day one releases anymore.

PC gamers breathing a sigh of relief because the PC Game Pass only (lol) went up ~40% should keep in mind that Microsoft made a conscientious effort to not put that plan in their chart and keep it hidden. The exact same way they did with Console Game Pass just before they sunset it and told console players they'd have to choose between Standard or Ultimate.

The writing is on the wall for PC Game Pass, same as it was for Console Game Pass. Eventually you'll be forced into Ultimate for Day Ones, just like console. They're just slowly boiling the old frog.

Of course PC Gamepass will go up in price. It has to, if Xbox on PC is the future of Xbox and true Xbox consoles are discarded. Ultimately MS will want to earn just as much from those Gamepass PC subscribers as they now make from Xbox console users.

I'm only surprised they've jacked up to 30 in one hit.

I'm not surprised we're at this point. And it's going to be rough going since I think the best of the Microsoft schedule is behind us. Brand is bbq FRIED going into "next gen".

Get some cheap codes and convert them ASAP. I am aware coversion rates are nowhere as good as previously. But it works out alot cheaper than paying monthly for Ultimate

Paying for these services yearly just isn't worth it anymore with the way these businesses use scummy tactics to lessen value and jack up prices you're better off paying 3-5 years in advance to these sub services to lock in value.

I imagine a lot more people will do that now instead of staying subscribed year around. Which makes it increasing odd that MS still doesn't offer a discounted annual option.
I honestly have no idea why they don't. Feels like an absolute no-brainer considering their retention issues.

All the biggest corporate knob-slobbing shills trying to now "save face" and jump on the meme bandwagon when they were in part responsible for that evangelical energy and hubris to get them (MS/Xbox) where they are today.

While funny, piss off, posers.

I wouldn't mind it, if they'd stay this way. But knowing they'll be shilling for Xbox again in 2 weeks is what pisses me off.
