From seeing that latest trailer…
My hope is that this is a good lore movie, like the Furiosa movie was for Mad Max.
My worry is that since Alien Earth dropped the ball on their end, if this does the same, Fox(Hulu/Disney) will reel back as far as possible on everything and go back to the safest thing imaginable, which is yet another by the numbers Predator movie and Alien movie.

His design is terrible for sure.
I'm 50/50 on Dan Trachtenberg Predator. He's got some cool ideas and a clearly loves the franchise.

It had great cinematography, an interesting setting, a cool build up, but was held back by awful acting and using it as a vehicle for female empowerment. Fuck man! What a missed opportunity.
Killer of Killers — another great idea held back by stupid decisions. The girl boss Viking was insufferable at the end. Enough with that shit!

Might be good, but it looks like one of those movies that are 100% CGI through the entire thing. I just can't. Basically watching a cartoon. My brain just immediately loses interest because everything is just obviously ultra fake and I'm just envisioning the actor flailing about in front of a green screen rather than actually being present in the world.

The massacre of the bad guys was epic. So maybe we'll see some good fights, but overall, I think the movie would be bad.

Absolutely hate the Predator redesign and it just looks overall too CGI-y.
But I do think some of the action might be cool and I like all the weird creatures.
If I can trick my brain that this isn't a Predator movie and just pretend its some random sci fi action slop, I might enjoy it.

The CGI work looks very mediocre in comparison to the largely practical effects of 1/2 , but Prey and Killer Of Killers was excellent so still got good vibes.

In early work for "The Predator" they wanted him to appear at the end, Arnold declined.
The ending of Killer of Killers also shows many cryogenically frozen warriors from different time periods and planets.
The intention now (Prey being something of a reboot) is to have Naru appear again in the next movie is this is a success.
Technically speaking, he could still appear, though his aging wouldn't make much sense if captured.

Couldn't give two shits if the girl from Prey appears at any stage. That film was only considered decent because it wasn't a steaming turd like the previous two installments, its mid at best.
I'd even take Danny Glover doing a cameo if that's what they're going for. I don't care what anyone says - Predator 2 rocks
